Knowing this isn’t a reason to restrict heavily, or develop a fear of food. That usually just leads right back into the binge-restrict cycle.
The goal here isn’t to demonize a cookie. The goal is to remove the shame.
When you find yourself overeating these foods, the worst thing you can do is beat yourself up. That guilt only fuels more stress and more emotional eating.
Instead, remind yourself:
“I’m not the problem.. I have zero willpower because I’m fighting against chemistry!!”
The balance you seek comes from understanding what you’re eating, so you can enjoy it without the side of guilt.
