If you have leaks when you sneeze, cough, or jump, or feel constant heaviness, the problem is often not weakness—it’s a pressure management issue called Intra-Abdominal Pressure (IAP).
What is IAP? The Core Canister
Think of your trunk as a sealed can . IAP is the force created inside that canister. Every time you lift, laugh, cough, or stand up, the pressure inside the can spikes dramatically.
If your pelvic floor is in a state of chronic clenching (hypertonicity), it becomes rigid, tight, and fatigued—like a metal plate instead of a spring.
We need to teach your pelvic floor to be a responsive shock absorber, not a rigid block.
The solution is not more clenching! It’s about restoring balance, full relaxation, and proper timing between your breath (diaphragm) and your pelvic floor (valve). This is the key to effectively managing IAP and stopping those leaks for good.
