I posted this picture yesterday without imagining the impact it would have on some of you.

I received so many messages saying “I also had a miscarriage” “it happened to me as well” “me too” “I know how it feels like”

Miscarriages happen in about 15% of all pregnancies however it is still one of the biggest taboo in reproductive health.
Why? Beyond the sadness of the loss, a lot of women feel shame and Guilt.

The most common cause of miscarriage is abnormal genetic material in the embryo. So why feel shame or guilt about that?! It’s not the woman’s fault when it happens.

Therefore Let’s break the taboo together!

Raise your hand in the comment if you ever had a miscarriage…. For others to feel less alone. 💔

I Will be raising my hand too 🤚🏽

I have been a doctor for as long as I can remember, doing my job to the best of my abilities and proudly thinking I knew it all.

But when I decided to embark on the entrepreneurial journey of Metle Metlik I went out of my comfort zone.

Digital marketing, Branding, SEO, Financials, customer acquisition.... all these new concepts kept coming my way.
And even though the actual content of the platform is created base on years of experience in the clinic, the rest of the business was a complete blur.

But doctors have an investigative mind, so there was not a concept that was gonna stand in my way.

So there I am, concept after concept, brick after brick discovering the start up world, building our platform with Sandrine Atallah, MD, making tons of mistakes and trying harder!

Similar to medical practice: get the data, analyze them, come up with a diagnosis, and a plan of treatment/action :)

Any business consultant around here? What advice would you give to an baby entrepreneur with a vision and a lot of passion but a bumpy road ahead?

As I have been working very closely with mothers for the past 10 years I have met many fathers along the way.

During the birth of a baby, I’ve always been impressed by the power, the fierceness and the determination of women. A woman giving birth is beautiful. And her strength is humbling.

On the other hand, during these precious moments I have witnessed first hand kindness, sweetness, doubts, fears and worries from fathers to be. When a man is about to become a father you will see very discretely his weaknesses, and it is also so beautiful.

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers I’ve had the honor to met.

And of course to my favorite one who always has our back! ❤️

Few days ago I came to Jad’s class to introduce the kids to my job as a doctor.

Of course I didn’t talk about speculums and pap smears, but we chatted about healthy habits, the different organs, how they work and how to take care of them
We also talked a little bit about babies in their mum’s tummies.

Seeing them so inquisitive gave me a boost of energy!

How many future doctors in this class?

Ola insta! 👋🏼 remember me?
I took a long completely unexpected break and it felt really good!

It’s started with me being overworked, with no time to post for a few days.
Somehow I actually felt relieved, so decided to stay off a little longer (will the algorithm punish me forever?)

The past few months have been exhausting and posting on insta was less and less of a priority. In addition what I was seeing on social media bothered me. Some accounts are way too far from real life or at least from MY reality. Life is not always perfect, filtered and beautiful and when you spend to much time scrolling you tend to forget that. I felt frustrated about my own reality which was mostly sweat and work!

Social media is also tiring and time consuming. Oh the pressure of posting everyday, answering the best way possible, dealing with negative comments and criticisms. It Took time away from my family, from my work and from my rest… bref, it’s exhausting!

During this month I focused my energy elsewhere (family family family and new projects) and it felt really good.

But Don’t get me wrong, I love the interactions I have on my platform. You are the best community I could hope for. So many of you asked How I was and why I disappeared and I am so grateful for you all ❤️
In addition empowering women through their health is still my mission …..so I am back!

I unfollowed most of the accounts that were dragging me down (.audi was right: cleaning up the space from time to time feels pretty good), and starting back fresh with a new vision for this page! (Thanks for the pep talk!)

I’m planning to take it easy, Post content with no pressure and enjoy my time around ❤️

Many new collabs coming up! That’s also exciting!

Check out my stories in the next few days to see where I spent my energy this last month and thanks for following…you are the best!

« There is always hope » Banksy

With everything going on in this country, is it hope, denial or stupidity?

We have no president, a money with no value, a corrupt justice system (August 4th victims, I think of you everyday), degraded healthcare system, infrastructure that cant hold 2 rainy days in a row, non existant women’s right and …. 2 time zones!!
We literally live in a jungle.

The only people getting things done around here are volunteers or NGOs.
And the few things still standing in this country are overpriced restaurants or high end fashion stores (I still cant wrap my head around fully booked restaurants!)

I dont know what to do? At my level… what can I really do to make things better? I feel every action is useless, too small and wont make a difference.

« Live in your bubble » they say. But what kind of person does that make of me… 🙈🙉🙊 dont look dont listen dont talk …

Well my bubble has bursted a long time ago so now what?

I can’t stop but wonder بعد في أمل؟
Is there still hope?
