Elham Said Freiha, born in Lebanon, is the only daughter of the late Said Freiha, founder of Dar Assayad. She earned a degree in psychology from the American University of Beirut (AUB) and is fluent in three languages. She has one daughter and enjoys art, literature, sports, and politics, which remains one of her primary daily interests. Known for her wide network of friends in Lebanon, the Arab world, and around the globe, she has made a lasting impact on journalism and humanitarian work. Journalistic Career
In 1973, Elham was appointed editor-in-chief of Samar, a monthly magazine. By 1976, she became deputy general manager of Dar Assayad, overseeing operations in key global cities such as London, Paris, Cairo, Dubai, and Riyadh. By 1981, she led the launch of Fairuz magazine, elevating it to prominence as a leading publication focused on women's issues. In 2002, as General Manager of Dar Assayad, Elham introduced programs to modernize the company’s operations, developing human and technical resources and launching specialized publications. Despite the destruction caused by the Lebanese Civil War, including direct bombings of the Dar Assayad premises, Elham chose to remain in Lebanon.
