Dental trauma in children🦷

A slightly chipped tooth may not be a major issue. But only a dental provider can assess how serious a chipped tooth is. Leaving a chipped tooth untreated can cause other problems if there’s damage beyond the enamel.

What to do?

The damage may be repair with a filling in only one visit. Or if the crack has extended to the pulp, the tooth needs a root canal treatment and a crown to protect the crack from spreading.
However if the crack extends below the gum line, it needs to be extracted.
