Lisa Paul is the Founder & CEO of PaulSpark, serving at the intersection of lived experience and leadership, designing practical systems that empower people to grow, serve with purpose, and strengthen communities. She leverages career aspects from public safety, crisis response, and community service, with over 15 years of leadership in St. John Ambulance💚

A Member of the Order of St John in Canada, Lisa has led the design and implementation of scalable programs that strengthen community safety, volunteer sustainability, and leadership capacity. Her work spans national and international contexts, including engagement with a global Women in Leadership Network, international training, and the creation of Classroom in a Bag, a training logistics system now adopted in other regions of the global St John family.
Lisa is currently designing a Volunteer Assistance Program (VAP)—a low-to-no-cost system to support organizations with volunteer health and wellbeing by leveraging existing and community-based resources.

Communities depend on volunteers for essential, life-changing services in critical moments. The Volunteer Assistance Program (VAP) provides a low- to no-cost system that leverages existing organizational and community resources to protect volunteer health and wellbeing, build resilience, and serve the people who sustain communities across Canada and around the world.

Her past contributions have been recognized through Ottawa Forty Under 40 award for professional achievement and community impact, and the Ontario Medical Association Centennial Award for outstanding contributions to the well-being of Ontarians.
Lisa remains deeply committed to service, mentorship, and building pathways for resilient organizations and communities🤝

Berthia Nickson is the Commissioner of Saint John Saint Lucia. She joined the organisation as a volunteer in 2011, became a non-commissioned officer in 2014 and was promoted to Commissioner in 2019. She oversees volunteers, and continues to support the organisation’s administrative, communication and public relations needs💛

She holds a BSc in International Tourism Management and an eMBA; she works full-time as an Administrative Assistant in Saint Lucia.

Berthia is known for being generous with her time and skills in the community; she supports her local disaster risk management organisation with administrative tasks and project management. A former secondary school teacher, she has continued to work with youth on a volunteer basis through St John, in community projects, and with the Archdiocese of Castries.
Outside of all this, in her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking the forests of Saint Lucia, hanging out at the beach, farming, crafting, or just relaxing at home with a good book. She is affable and curious by nature and enjoys learning, travelling and meeting people.

Berthia's project will look to redesign the St John Saint Lucia Youth Programme into an engaging initiative that reflects advancements in modern pedagogical practices, and topics relevant to the youth, with a focus on cultivating leadership and civic engagement, strengthening life skills, promoting gender awareness and personal safety, and building resilience through first aid education🌟
