_Advancing Clinical Excellence in 2025_

The sixth Morbidity and Mortality Review Meeting for the year 2025 was held on December 9th at the main auditorium of Teaching Hospital Anuradhapura.

This session emphasized on following topics
- Case based discussion on cardiac arrest
- Experience from ERC
- Experience from WAMM
- Environmental cost of surgery
- Disaster management

And an interactive session on Brain Imaging for MOAs by Dr Nadun Vithanage Consultants Neuroradiologist at THA.

The Department of Anesthesia remains dedicated to conducting regular review meetings to foster a culture of continuous learning, workplace well-being, and enhanced patient care.

_Advancing Clinical Excellence in 2025_

The fifth Morbidity and Mortality Review Meeting for the year 2025 was held on September 30th at the radiology auditorium of Teaching Hospital Anuradhapura.

This session emphasized on following topics
- Difficult IV access
- SAB in hypovolemia
- Drug errors

And an interactive session on CXR interpretation for MOAs By Dr Buddhika Gurunayake, Consultant Radiologist at THA.

The Third Morbidity and Mortality Review Meeting for the year 2025 was held on May 27th at the main auditorium of Teaching Hospital Anuradhapura.

This session emphasized on following topics
- Anaphylaxis
- Hemodynamic instability following oxytocin
- AI in pre operative management
- History of LMA

And it was concluded with a fun and interactive activity on Laryngospasm.

The Department of Anesthesia at Teaching Hospital Anuradhapura has successfully executed the last CPR training program for nursing officers and medical doctors for the year 2025 on 19th December..!

The session was held at the Skill Lab of THA with 7 nursing officers and 4 medical doctors as candidates.

It remark a significant step forward in our ongoing mission to strengthen the emergency response skills and reshape the attitudes toward patient care.

A heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to bringing this program back to life.

Kicking off 2025 with Lifesaving Skills…!

The fourth CPR Training Program for Medicos at RUSL for the year 2025 was conducted on 16th December, for 36 final year medical students of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.

The program was organized in collaboration with the Department of Medicine and Medical Students’ Union at RUSL

The session was held at the Skill Lab of THA with 8 nursing officers and 3 medical doctors as candidates.

It remark a significant step forward in our ongoing mission to strengthen the emergency response skills and reshape the attitudes toward patient care.

A heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to bringing this program back to life.

We often talk about surgeons and anesthetists, but every single member of the OR team matters…!

The teamwork, empowerment and making sure everyone feels valued in the journey of healing…❣️

We are excited to share the second workshop for Theatre Assistants on 14th November 2025 at Skill lab, THA.

It was a hands on skill training mainly focused on machine handlings and basic life support skills.

Special Thanks to the coordinators, instructors and the participants.
