We are proud to share that Dr Fathima Deeniya represented our department at the 3rd World Airway Management Meeting 2025, held from 5th to 8th November in Florence, Italy.

She presented on the topic, “Airway Decision Making Challenges in a Patient with Mobile Rhinosporidiosis Flap in the Larynx”

We appreciate her hard work and dedication, and we congratulate her on this remarkable achievement.

_Life Support Without Borders_

The fourth program of saving lives of 2025 was conducted on 16th October for 600 university students of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka with our proud products from Rajarata Resus Club.

Candidates were trained in essential life-saving skills to better respond to cardiac emergencies outside the hospital setting.

The department will be planning on a series of these type of outreach programs to strengthen community response and improve outcomes in out-of-hospital cardiac arrests.

_Stregnthening skills, saving lives_

The Department of Anesthesia at Teaching Hospital Anuradhapura has executed the CPR training program for nursing officers and medical doctors on 14th October 2025..!

The session was held at the Skill Lab of THA with 7 nursing officers and 4 medical doctors as candidates.

It remark a significant step forward in our ongoing mission to strengthen the emergency response skills and reshape the attitudes toward patient care.

A heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to bringing this program back to life.
Let us keep the momentum going…!

Candidates were trained in essential life-saving skills to better respond to cardiac emergencies outside the hospital setting.

The fourth CPR Training Program for Medicos at RUSL for the year 2025 was conducted on 10th of October, for 36 final year medical students of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.

The program was organized in collaboration with the Department of Medicine and Medical Students’ Union at RUSL

Celebrating World Sepsis Day 2025

The Department organized an educational Sepsis Quiz on 15th September 2025 to strengthen knowledge and early recognition of sepsis among our medical officers.

The program was organized by Dr. Gayani Senevirathne (Medical Officer in Anesthesiology, THA) under the guidance and supervision of our department consultants.

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the quiz was Dr. S. Sangeerththan (Medical Officer, Child Psychiatry Unit, THA). Congratulations!
