Company Profile
The Family Rehabilitation Centre is a humanitarian, non-profit, non-governmental organization, founded in August 1992. It is an independent organization with its own Memorandum of Articles of Association and has been incorporated under section 21 of the Companies Act No. 17 of 1982.

- To assist persons affected by trauma such as differently abled, torture survivors and those suffering from physical and/or psychological distress, with medical attention, counseling, physiotherapy, and other relevant services.

- Conduct training programmes for relevant persons in the management of trauma affected, basic counseling, befriending and empowerment.

- Network with relevant governmental and non-governmental organizations, in order to obtain access to all available services for trauma affected.

- Advocacy to prevent trauma through violence in society.

The Family Rehabilitation Centre (FRC) is now equipped with a Digital Virtual Platform in Colombo and Mannar.

This state-of-the-art facility was officially unveiled on 25th September 2025 at our Mannar Centre by Dr. S. Roy, Deputy Director of the District General Hospital, Mannar.

The initiative highlights FRC’s long-standing commitment to delivering high-quality psychosocial interventions, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and fostering meaningful community interactions. The Digital Virtual Platform addresses the need for wider communication by virtually connecting resources with grassroots communities, thereby enhancing awareness, knowledge sharing, and faster connectivity to improve psychosocial well-being.

Training on Trauma, Grief, and Adolescent Mental Health – Mullaitivu
The Family Rehabilitation Centre (FRC) successfully conducted a capacity-building training for psychosocial service providers in Mullaitivu District on 22nd July 2025 at the District Secretariat.
The session focused on enhancing knowledge and skills in trauma, grief, and adolescent mental health, and was expertly facilitated by Dr. Sivadas.
Thank you to all participants for your active engagement and commitment to strengthening mental health services in the region. 💙

The FRC Team in Mannar paved the pathway through the Rotary Club of Mannar by providing school learning equipments to 20 students at Parikari Kandal School on the 10th of February 2025 along with a formation of an Interact Club consisting of 20 members .This has impacted students with gaining knowledge and creating a platform to collaborate and work together in enhancing the community on postulating the significance of social cohesion .

Family Rehabilitation Centre (FRC ) expands its services to the Anuradhapura District

The opening ceremony of the Family Rehabilitation Centre’s (FRC) Anuradhapura District Office was opened by Dr.W M Palitha Bandara - Provincial Director of Health Services on the 16th of January 2025.
This significant event marked a new chapter in FRC’s mission to enhance access to psychosocial support and rehabilitation services in the region.
Also present were the Additional Government Agent Ms .W S P Wickramaarachchi,
Dr Manoj Fernando Dean Faculty of Applied Science, Rajarata University,
Mr Amal Piyatilake - Founder President, Anuradhapura District Chamber of Commerce and Ms Shyamali Dissanayake - WCI, Police Station Anuradhapura.
