In Ayurveda, there are two questions that matter before anything else.

Who are you, by nature? And who have you become?

The first is called Prakriti. Your original constitution, set at the moment of conception and unchanged across your lifetime. It determines how you digest, how you sleep, how you respond to stress, heat, cold, and change. It is your biological blueprint. Entirely your own.

The second is called Vikriti. Your current state. How far your doshas have shifted from that original balance, and what that shift is quietly producing in your body and mind.
The gap between your Prakriti and your Vikriti is where illness lives.

This is why two people with the same diagnosis can need completely different treatment in Ayurveda. The condition is never the starting point. The person is.

There is a treatment in Ayurveda where warm medicated oil is poured in a slow, steady stream over the forehead. It sounds simple. What it does to the nervous system is anything but.

This is Shirodhara, one of the most profound treatments in classical Ayurveda.
The oil flows directly over the Ajna Chakra, what many traditions call the third eye, the region Ayurveda recognises as a gateway to the central nervous system. The continuous, rhythmic stream has a deeply regulating effect on the brain and nerves, calming an overactive mind, reducing the burden on the nervous system, and creating conditions where genuine healing can begin. For people living with chronic stress, disrupted sleep, or nervous system exhaustion, this is not a luxury. It is medicine.

At Ayuwanna, Shirodhara is not something you pick off a menu. It is only recommended by our qualified Ayurveda physicians after a proper consultation, because the treatment, the oil, and the preparation are tailored entirely to your body and condition.

Shirodhara is part of a treatment line, a structured course of care designed by your physician. It does not stand alone. A Shiro Abhyanga, a medicated oil massage to the head, neck and shoulders, is performed first to prepare the body to receive it. Depending on what your physician prescribes, treatments like Nasya may follow, working deeper into the channels Shirodhara has already opened.
Timing matters too. Shirodhara is traditionally not performed on rainy days, full moon days, or during menstruation. These reflect how deeply Ayurveda understands the body and its relationship with the environment.

For the right person it can address insomnia, chronic stress, anxiety, hormonal imbalances, fertility concerns, diabetic neuropathy, migraines, and hypertension.
It is not suitable for everyone, which is why we never offer it without physician guidance.
