Halal Assessment Council - HAC

HAC is the only entity certifying and conducting compliance audits for Halal standards in Sri Lanka. The Halal Accreditation Council is registered under the Companies’ Act No. 7 of 2007 as a Company Limited by Guarantee. HAC focuses on providing services resulting from a professional management process guided by international best practices and contemporary corporate governance. The HAC is concerned with business continuity and sustainability in the long term and has also put in place proper, industry standards, auditing mechanisms including independent third party audits and an internal audit committee to emphasize on transparency and accountability in all its activities. It was founded by 11 Founder Members from a diverse background including academia, business, professional organizations, medicine and technology. The Halal compliance certification process is subject to careful scrutiny the Compliance Committee which consist of five erudite Islamic Scholars of highest integrity who has the authority to approve issuance of HAC Halal compliance certificates. SERVICES
Services offered by the HAC include; setting authentic Halal standards, certifying enterprises who volunteer to incorporate Halal standards within their organizational systems, auditing and supervising certified companies and products to ensure proper adherence to the specifications of the standards and consulting and aiding in the implementation of standards within willing corporate entities in order to fulfill their goals and objectives.
