SOME THING WE CAN DO WISELY RATHER THAN COMPLICATE IT......
If you have fever/ flu with or without
Body aches, sore throat , runny nose , headache, loose stools , cough, difficulty in breathing
1. Isolate yourself at home better in a separate room, avoid to go out home or work and stop Panicking π
2. Do a PCR clearance
3. Get yourself tested for Dengue (itβs on the rise and can be worse than COVID if not detected on time)
4. Stop misusing steroids , paracetamol and antibiotics before you know what you are dealing with
5. If your PCR is positive continue to isolate yourself in a room at home, continue home care if you have mild or no symptoms
6. If your family already exposed and having symptoms also then no need to isolate in a separate room. If they asymptomatic then think of a separate room. Do them also PCR clearance.
7. No need to wear facemask while you are alone in separate room. Wear mask if someone else enter the room for give care for you. When family member entering room wear face mask properly, proper hand hygiene techniques and maintain social distance too.
8. Trace your direct close contacts and inform them and do your part as a responsible citizen.
9. Inform PHI and health authorities regarding PCR positive status.
10. Keep your GP / family doctor posted on your condition for expert advice
11. Stay in a well ventilated room, continue steam inhalation, salt water gargling, vitamin supplements, healthy diet, adequate rest, immune boosting drinks two to three times a day (which contain corriender, lemon extract, honey, ginger, black pepper, etc.....), eat plenty of citrus containing fruits (orange, lemon, mandarin, avocado, green apple). Use your own household things, clothes, plates, cups etc....
12. Keep your self actively involve with brief walking and breathing exercises, meditation in side your room atleast twice a day. Sleeping in prone position (tummy and face down position) will help to improve your oxygenation better.
13. Avoid watching the negative news regarding covid from television or social media etc....
Listen good music, reading books, Watch TV programs, sports shows, movies which ever you like.
14. Have connected with your family, friends and relatives with phone call or video chat.
15. Start counting the day of illness. Take day 1 as which day the first symptom (fever/sorethroat/cough) you develop. Not the PCR day. It is very important to decide the management in case if you go into serious pathway of the covid illness. Anyhow isolation is 14 days from PCR day.
16. Usually you will develop symptoms from3 to 5days from the exposure day. Most of the symptoms will settle in 7days time in case of mild disease.
If high fever persist, severe worsening cough with sortness of breath, chest pain, faintishness, reduced urine output after day 7 you should seek medical advice and admit in a hospital.
17. If you have a thermo meter and pulse oxymeter check your temperature and saturation (saturation above 95% at rest normal) and pulse rate two to three times a day and chart in a paper.
18. If possible measure your urine amount and chart your fluids intake in daily basis. These will help your family doctor to decide whether you have to get admitted in hospital if your health condition deteriorating....
19. Keep yourself well hydrated. Drink plenty of water. Keep an eye on your urine colour. Usual is straw or light yellow then hydration is adequate. If it is yellow or dark yellow you should drink more water.
20. Take your usual medications for other diseases as usual. If you have any concerns contact your doctor and get his advise.
21. Wait list yourself at an intermediate care Centre if you donβt have the facility or convenience for home isolation.
22. Donβt overcrowd the hospitals or get yourself in-warded unnecessarily.Let those who truly deserve a hospital / ICU bed have access to the limited facilities we have right now π
23. If you experience worsening of breathlessness, chest pain, continuous fever or diarrhea even after 7days of illness , immediately report to the nearest emergency unit. Keep informed them before going if possible.
24. Don't get vaccination if you have any symptoms of covid infection or febrile illness. Wait for two weeks and clear your self from illness and get it later according to your family doctor advice.
25. Asymptomatic or mild disease after completing the 14days isolation period from PCR day you can start your usual daily life and can go to work after your family doctor's advice.
While you continue to stay undiagnosed you will be exposing many who are unvaccinated or in a low immunity statusββββ
So Be proactive, Be smart , Be responsible, Selfless and Disciplined πππ
