Katina Anisansā Dharmadeshanā — A Night of Blessings

Last evening, at Havelock City Maha Sama Viharaya, we were blessed to hold the Katina Anisansā Dharmadeshanā as part of this year’s sacred Katina Maha Pinkama

We offer our deepest gratitude to the Viharādhipathi Ven. Ananda Thero, Ven. Dharmarakita Thero, and Ven. Jyothi Thero (Burma) for their guidance and continuous blessings… and a very special thank you to Ven. Nalaka Thero who delivered the Katina Anisansā Bhāna with such compassion and clarity

This meritorious event was beautifully supported by:

Our Windsor Gardens staff — flower decorations, food preparation, temple arrangements & caring for the Maha Sangha

Our residents — who joyfully took part throughout the Waskalaya period

Upāsakas & Upāsikās of Maha Sama Viharaya - who assisted every ritual hand-in-hand with us
All silent supporters who contributed with devotion

After 3–4 months of Waskalaya, this year’s Katina Pinkama became truly blissful, calm, and spiritually uplifting for everyone who joined.

Our Windsor Gardens residents, staff, and family members joined together to respectfully offer Dana (almsgiving) and essential requisites to the monks a beautiful expression of gratitude for their guidance and the blessings they bestow on our lives.

It was a morning filled with merit, peace and harmony, bringing heartfelt joy to our elders and everyone who participated.

Today marked the third consecutive day of the blessed pirith chanting at Windsor Gardens as we prepare for the upcoming Katina Chivara Pooja.

Our residents and staff gathered together in devotion offering flowers lighting lamps and receiving the timeless blessings of the Dhamma and the Maha Sangha.

We are humbled and grateful to support this sacred tradition once again ensuring that our elders continue to live surrounded by faith, culture and a loving community.

Annual Katina Chivaraya at Windsor Gardens

Today, the Katina Chivaraya — the robe — was respectfully brought to Windsor Gardens.

Each year, Windsor Gardens takes the honour of offering the Katina Pinkama to a nearby temple, following the Vassakara (Rainy Retreat) period. This year, too, we are privileged to continue this beautiful tradition by supporting a temple close to us.

Our residents, staff, and families joined together with deep devotion to welcome the sacred robe and share in this meritorious occasion.
