Which type of denture is right for me? 🤔

​1. Acrylic Dentures

​These are the most commonly used traditional type of dentures. They are made from a hard, plastic-like material.
​Pros:
Affordable (low cost). It is very easy to add teeth or repair them as needed.
​Cons:
Can feel a bit bulky or uncomfortable due to their thickness. There is a higher risk of breaking if dropped.

​2. Flexible Dentures

​As the name suggests, these are made from a flexible material.
​Pros:
Very lightweight and comfortable in the mouth. They are less likely to break if dropped.
​Cons: Slightly more expensive. If the denture breaks or needs adjustments, it is more difficult to repair compared to Acrylic.

​3. 3D Printed Dentures

​These are created using modern technology with the help of computer software.
​Pros:
Highly precise and fits the shape of the mouth perfectly. You can get the denture much faster than with traditional methods. Provides a more natural appearance.
​Cons:
Since it is still a new technology, availability may be limited to certain locations. They are less flexible than "Flexible Dentures."

මට හරියන්නේ මොන වගේ දත් ඇන්දක්ද? 🤔

1. ඇක්‍රිලික් දත් කුට්ටම් (Acrylic Dentures)

​මේවා වඩාත් බහුලවම භාවිතා වන සාම්ප්‍රදායික දත් කුට්ටම් වර්ගයයි.
මේවා සාදා ඇත්තේ දෘඩ ප්ලාස්ටික් වැනි ද්‍රව්‍යයකිනි.

​වාසි: මිලෙන් අඩුයි. අවශ්‍යතාවය අනුව දත් එකතු කිරීමට හෝ අලුත්වැඩියා කිරීමට ඉතා පහසුයි.
​අවාසි: තරමක් ඝනකම නිසා මුඛයට අපහසුවක් දැනෙන්න පුළුවන්. වැටුණහොත් කැඩී යාමේ අවදානම වැඩියි.

2. නැමෙන සුළු දත් කුට්ටම් (Flexible Dentures)

​නමෙන් කියවෙන පරිදිම මේවා නම්‍යශීලී ද්‍රව්‍යයකින් සාදා ඇත.
​වාසි: ඉතා සැහැල්ලුයි සහ මුඛයට සුවපහසුයි. බිම වැටී කැඩී යාමට ඇති ඉඩකඩ අඩුයි.

​අවාසි: මිලෙන් තරමක් වැඩියි. දත් කුට්ටම කැඩුණහොත් හෝ වෙනස් කිරීමට අවශ්‍ය වුවහොත් අලුත්වැඩියා කිරීම Acrylic වලට වඩා අපහසුයි.

​3. ත්‍රිමාණ මුද්‍රිත දත් කුට්ටම් (3D Printed Dentures)

​නවීන තාක්ෂණය භාවිතයෙන් පරිගණක මෘදුකාංග ආධාරයෙන් මේවා නිර්මාණය කරයි.

​වාසි: ඉතා නිවැරදිව (High Precision) මුඛයේ හැඩයට ගැලපෙන සේ සැකසිය හැකියි. සාම්ප්‍රදායික ක්‍රමයට වඩා ඉක්මනින් දත් කුට්ටම ලබා ගත හැකියි. වඩා ස්වභාවික පෙනුමක් ඇත.

​අවාසි: තවමත් අලුත් තාක්ෂණයක් බැවින් මේවා ලබා ගත හැකි ස්ථාන සීමිත විය හැකියි.
නම්‍යශීලි ගතිය Flexible dentures වලට වඩා අඩුය.

ඔබේ දත් අපිළිවෙළ නම්?

1. ලෝහමය බ්‍රේසස් (Metal Braces)
දත් පෙළගස්වන සාම්ප්‍රදායික ක්‍රමයයි. මෙය ඉතාමත් ශක්තිමත් මෙන්ම ඕනෑම සංකීර්ණ දත් අපිළිවෙළ වීමක්ද නිවැරැදි කිරීමට භාවිතා කළ හැකි වඩාත් සාර්ථක ක්‍රමයකි.

​2. ක්ලියර් අලයිනර්ස් (Clear Aligners)
​විනිවිද පෙනෙන ප්ලාස්ටික් තැටි විශේෂයක් වන මෙය පියවි ඇසට නොපෙනෙන තරම්ය. ආහාර ගැනීමේදී සහ දත් මැදීමේදී මේවා පහසුවෙන් ගලවා ඉවත් කිරීමට රෝගියාට හැකියාව පවතී.

​3. ඉවත් කළ හැකි විකලාංග උපකරණ (Removable Appliances)
​රෝගියාටම ස්වයංව ගලවා ඉවත් කළ හැක.
බොහෝ විට කුඩා දරුවන්ගේ සුළු දත් පෙළගැස්වීම් සඳහා යොදා ගැනේ. ප්‍රධාන ප්‍රතිකාරයකින් පසු දත් නැවත තිබූ තත්ත්වයට පත්වීම වැළැක්වීමටද (Retainers) මේවා බහුලව භාවිතා වේ.
