What this would do is capture videos when you are away, record it on a hard disk and make the video available for you to view later. Back in the days people were looking at CCTVs as niche products. Only governments can own it, and slowly the privileged started to benefit from it. Why couldn’t everyone have it? Expensive was the answer
Today, we have this technology at very affordable prices, prices everyone could afford. You now see a camera looking at you from every direction. Be it your office, your school, the restaurant, the gym, the medical center and even your lawn. Someone is watching you. While this may be a discomfort at times, but we always see the benefits of it. But, as human beings we tend to ask a very common question every single time. And that is “NOW WHAT?” People had the burglar alarms, then the electric fencing and then the CCTV. Now, the second common question “WHAT NEXT?”
During its initiation CCTV camera came in the form of WIRED CCTV. It had its main benefits like all sensors can be run from a single power supply and zero interference. However, it also had its drawbacks; the major one being CABLING. Cabling could be a tedious task, requiring help from experts. One other major drawback is observation being fixed to a specific area and the camera cannot be easily moved to another direction. Some other drawbacks include unavailability of HD resolutions which is now becoming standard along with no controls for Pan, Tilt and Zoom also known as PTZ. How does one overcome the drawbacks of Wired CCTV Systems? Wireless CCTV systems are increasingly becoming a popular choice among CCTV buyers on account of the ease of installing such a system, lack of cabling requirements and assured mobility. The key advantages are:
• A wireless camera can be moved to other locations requiring observation while it is difficult to move a wired camera.
• Best suited for locations requiring temporary observation or in a temporary location.
• Wireless camera can be hidden to detect theft or pilferage
• Wireless recording and monitoring device need not be in the same line of sight allowing observation of any place from another remote location.
• Wireless systems are cost effective, re-deployable and portable.
