Our story
Since its establishment in 1964, making it the second oldest medical association in Sri Lanka, the Kandy Society of Medicine (KSM) has been active in the areas of continuing medical education and health research. Its membership, consisting of clinicians and scientists working in the medical and dental professions, now stands at over 700. KSMโs weekly clinical and scientific meetings attract a wide range of health professionals including students from the Peradeniya Medical School.
The society aims to provide opportunities for health professionals to update their academic knowledge and clinical skill, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of health care delivered to the public.
In addition it fosters health innovations and research in medicine, provides opportunities for medical professionals to interact in social spheres through various events, and carries out public health education and awareness projects.
