" සිනහවට සිනහ පොදක් වන
කඳුලට අස්වැසිල්ලක් වන
උතුම් මව් පදවිය රැක ගනිමු
පියයුරු පිළිකාවට තිත තබමු "

ඔක්තෝබර් මාසය ලෝකය පුරා පියයුරු පිළිකා දැනුවත් කිරීමේ මාසය ලෙස හැඳින්වේ. එම නිසාම මෙම මාසය Pink October ලෙස ද හැඳින්වේ. මෙහි ප්‍රධානතම අරමුණ වන්නේ රෝගය ඇති වීමට පෙර හඳුනා ගැනීම සහ හඳුනා ගැනීමෙන් පසු කඩිනම් ප්‍රතිකාරවලට පෙළඹීම මගින් යහපත් නීරෝගී ජීවිතයක් ගත කිරීමට ජනතාව පෙළඹවීමයි.
ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් කාන්තාවන් අතර බහුල රෝගයක්වන පියයුරු පිළිකා පුරුෂ පාර්ෂවය අතරද දුලබ වුවත් දැකගත හැකි රෝගයකි. කෙසේ නමුදු ප්‍රාථමික අවධියේ දීම හඳුනා ගැනීම මගින් මෙම රෝගයෙන් මිදීමට වැඩි අවස්ථාවක් පවතී.
මෙම Pink October මාසයේ දී පියයුරු පිළිකා පිළිබඳව දැනුවත් වෙමු. සමාජයෙන් තුරන් කරමු.

Let us protect the noble gift of motherhood,
And put an end to breast cancer."

The month of October is recognized worldwide as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Therefore, it is also known as "Pink October". The main objective of this month is to encourage people to detect the disease early and to seek prompt treatment after diagnosis, thereby leading to a healthy and fulfilling life.
Breast cancer is a common illness mainly among women, yet it can also be seen, though rarely, among men. However, early detection provides a greater chance of recovery from this disease.
During this Pink October, let us be aware of breast cancer and work together to eliminate it from our society.

"ஒவ்வொரு புன்னகைக்கும் ஒளி சேர்க்கும் ஒரு நம்பிக்கையாகவும்,
ஒவ்வொரு துளி கண்ணீருக்கும் இதமான ஆறுதலாகவும் விளங்கும்,
உயர்ந்த தாய்மையின் பதவியை பாதுகாப்போம்,
மார்பகப் புற்றுநோயை முடிவுக்கு கொண்டு வருவோம்."

அக்டோபர் மாதம் உலகம் முழுவதும் மார்பகப் புற்றுநோய் விழிப்புணர்வு மாதம் என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. அதனால் இதனை பிங்க் அக்டோபர் (Pink October) என்றும் குறிப்பிடுகின்றனர்.
இதன் முக்கிய நோக்கம், நோய் உருவாகும் முன்பே அதைக் கண்டறிந்து, அதன் பின் உடனடியாக சிகிச்சை பெறுவதன் மூலம் ஆரோக்கியமான வாழ்க்கையை வாழ மக்களை ஊக்குவிப்பதே ஆகும்.
முக்கியமாக பெண்களிடையே அதிகமாக காணப்படும் மார்பகப் புற்றுநோய், ஆண்களிடையிலும் அரிதாகக் காணப்படக்கூடிய ஒரு நோயாகும். ஆனால் ஆரம்ப நிலையிலேயே கண்டறிவதன் மூலம் இந்த நோயிலிருந்து மீள்வதற்கான வாய்ப்புக்கள் அதிகமாகும்.
இந்த பிங்க் அக்டோபர் மாதத்தில், மார்பகப் புற்றுநோய் குறித்து விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தி
சமூகத்திலிருந்து இதை முற்றிலும் நீக்குவோம்.

ජව පිරුණු සහෝදරත්වයේ
උද්වේගකර ප්‍රීති ඝෝෂාව මැද
සහෝදරත්වය මතින් ලියවුණ
විජයග්‍රහණයේ අභිෂේකය

කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය හෙද පීඨයේ හෙද පීඨ ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ මගපෙන්වීම යටතේ ක්‍රීඩා අනුකමිටුව විසින් සංවිධානය කරනු ලබන "Nursing Fiesta-2025" සමාප්ති උළෙල වර්ෂ 2025 ක් වූ ඔක්තෝබර් මස 16 වන දින ප.ව. 2.30 සිට කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය හෙද පීඨ විවෘත ශ්‍රවණාගාර පරිශ්‍රයේ දී පැවැත්වීය. එම අවස්ථාවේ දී ජයග්‍රාහී සහෝදර සහෝදරියන්ට කුසලාන සහ සහතික පත්‍ර ප්‍රදානය සිදු කරන ලදි. එහිදී කැමරා කාචය මත සනිටුහන් වූ ආවර්ජනාත්මක රූප රාමු පෙළ මෙසේය.

The grand finale of "Nursing Fiesta – 2025", organized by the Sports subcommittee under the guidance of the Students’ Union of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Colombo, took place on 16th of October, 2025, from 2.30 p.m. onwards, at the Open Auditorium of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Colombo. At that event, trophies and certificates were awarded to the winners. Here unfolds a series of memorable moments framed through the camera eye on that day.

"ආධ්‍යාත්මික අන්ධකාරයට එරෙහිව ආලෝකයේ ජයග්‍රහණය" සංකේතවත් කරනු ලබන ආලෝකයේ උත්සවයක් වන දීවාලී හෙවත් දීපවාලී උත්සවය ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් හින්දු, ජෛන සහ සීක් යන ජනවර්ග විසින් සමරනු ලබන උත්සවවලින් එකකි. හින්දු චන්ද්‍ර මාසය වන කාර්තිකා මාසයේ දී (ඔක්තෝම්බර් මස මැද සිට නොවැම්බර් මස මැද දක්වා) දින පහක් පුරා මෙම උත්සවය පවත්වනු ලබයි. දීපවාලිය සමඟ බැදුණු ජනප්‍රවාද රාශියකි. ඒ අතරින් රාවණා රජුගේ යක්ෂ සේනාව රාමාගේ යහපත් සේනාව මගින් පරාජය වීම සංකේතවත් කිරීම සඳහා දීපවාලිය සමරන බව පැවසෙන ජනප්‍රවාදය ප්‍රසිද්ධය. අඳුර පරදා ආලෝකය ජයගත් උත්සවයක් බැවින් මෙම දිනයේ දී සෑම නිවසක්ම පහන් ආලෝකයෙන් ආලෝකමත් වන අතර ඉඳහිට ඉන්දියානු රස කැවිලි පෙට්ටි සමඟ ලැබෙන දීවාලි සුභ පැතුම් ද ඇත. සුහදත්වය වඩා වර්ධනය වන දීපවාලී උත්සවය 2025 වර්ෂයේ ඔක්තෝබර් මස 20 වන සඳුදා දිනට යෙදී ඇත.

ලෝකවාසී ඔබ සියලු දෙනාටම අඳුර පරදා ආලෝකය ජයගත හැකිවන සුභ දීපවාලී උත්සවයක් වේවා !

"The triumph of light over the spiritual darkness" symbolizes the festival of light, known as Diwali. It is one of the major festivals celebrated mainly by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs. It is held during the Hindus lunar month of Kartika (from mid-October to mid-November) and lasts for five days. There are many legends associated with Diwali. Among them, one of the most well known is that Diwali commemorates the victory of Lord Rama's righteous army over King Rawana's Demon forces. As a celebration of the triumph of light over darkness, homes are illuminated with lamps and lights, and boxes of traditional Indian sweets are shared along with warm Diwali greetings. The Diwali festival, which strengthens the bonds of affability, is celebrated on Monday, 20th of October 2025.

May this Diwali be a blessed festival for the people from all around the world that conquers darkness with the light!

"ஆத்மீக இருளை வென்று ஒளியின் வெற்றியை குறிக்கும் ஒளியின் திருவிழாவாகிய தீபாவளி, முக்கியமாக இந்துக்களால் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இந்து சந்திர மாதமான கார்த்திகை மாதத்தில் அமாவாசை தினத்தன்று ஆரம்பித்து ஐந்து நாட்கள் தொடர்ந்து இந்த திருவிழா நடைபெறுகிறது.
தீபாவளியுடன் தொடர்புடைய பல புராணக் கதைகள் உள்ளன. அவற்றில் மிகவும் பிரபலமானது, இராவணனை வென்ற இராமனின் தர்மத்தின் வெற்றியை குறிக்கும் கதையாகும்.
அதனால், தீபாவளி “இருளை வென்ற ஒளியின் நாள்” என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.
இந்த நாளில் வீடுகள் முழுவதும் விளக்குகள் ஏற்றப்பட்டு ஒளிர்விக்கப்படுகின்றன. அத்துடன் இனிப்புகள் பரிமாற்றப்பட்டு, பரிசுகள் பரிமாற்றப்பட்டு, குடும்ப உறவுகள் மற்றும் நண்பர்கள் தங்களுக்கிடையில் தீபாவளி வாழ்த்துகளை தெரிவித்துக்கொள்கின்றனர்.
இணக்கம், நட்பு, அன்பு, மற்றும் ஒளியின் வெற்றி என்பவற்றை குறிக்கும் இந்த அழகான திருவிழா, 2025 ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் மாதம் 20 ஆம் திகதி, திங்கட்கிழமை அன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

உலகெங்கும் உள்ள அனைவருக்கும் இருளை வென்று ஒளியை அடையும் இனிய தீபாவளி நல்வாழ்த்துகள்🪔!"

කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය හෙද පීඨයේ හෙද පීඨ ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ මගපෙන්වීම යටතේ ක්‍රීඩා අනුකමිටුව විසින් සංවිධානය කරනු ලබන "Nursing Fiesta-2025" දෙවන දිනය වූ වර්ෂ 2025 ක් වූ ඔක්තෝබර් මස 12 වන දින කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය ක්‍රීඩාංගනයේ දී ක්‍රිකට් සහ ධාවන තරගාවලි පැවැත්වීය. එහිදී කැමරා කාචය මත සනිටුහන් වූ ආවර්ජනාත්මක රූප රාමු පෙළ මෙසේය.

Under the guidance of the Students' Union of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Colombo, the Sports sub committee successfully organized the "Nursing Fiesta - 2025". Marking its fourth day, the Relay and Cricket tournaments were held on 12th of October 2025 at the Main Ground of University of Colombo. Here unfolds a series of memorable moments framed through the camera eye on that day.

கொழும்புப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் தாதியல் பீட மாணவர் சங்கத்தின் வழிகாட்டுதலின் கீழ், விளையாட்டு உபகுழுவினால் சிறப்பாக ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்ட "Nursing Fiesta - 2025" இரண்டாவது நாள், அதாவது 2025 ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் மாதம் 12 ஆம் திகதி, கொழும்புப் பல்கலைக்கழக விளையாட்டு மைதானத்தில் அஞ்சல் ஓட்டம் மற்றும் கிரிக்கெட் போட்டிகள் மிகுந்த உற்சாகத்துடன் நடைபெற்றது. அந்த மறக்கமுடியாத தருணங்கள் படம்பிடிக்கப்பட்டு பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டு, அழகிய படத் தொகுப்பாக வெளிவந்துள்ளன.

කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය හෙද පීඨයේ හෙද පීඨ ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ මගපෙන්වීම යටතේ ක්‍රීඩා අනුකමිටුව විසින් සංවිධානය කරනු ලබන "Nursing Fiesta-2025" අවසානය සනිටුහන් කරනු ලබන විජයග්‍රාහී අවසන් දිනය වර්ෂ 2025 ක් වූ ඔක්තෝබර් මස 16 වන දින කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය හෙද පීඨයේ විවෘත ශ්‍රවණාගාර පරිශ්‍රයේ දී පැවැත්වීමට සියලු කටයුතු සූදානමින් පවතියි.

The grand finale of "Nursing Fiesta – 2025", organized by the Sports subcommittee under the guidance of the Students’ Union of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Colombo, is set to take place on 16th of October, 2025, at the Open Auditorium of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Colombo.
All arrangements are underway to mark this victorious conclusion.
