We were honoured to welcome the IMBS students for their field visit, during which the space was filled with calm, courage, and compassion. The program included yoga and mindfulness sessions that encouraged grounding and self-awareness, insightful speech therapy sessions, and safe, supportive moments where our patients were allowed to speak, express, and be heard. The day was beautifully concluded with music and dancing, reminding us that healing is not only clinical but also joyful and deeply human.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Miss Sonali and the IMBS team for your dedication, empathy, and enthusiasm. Your willingness to engage beyond textbooks and truly connect made a lasting impact.

Negombo Flood Psychosocial Support Program

Negombo has learned, the hard way, that water can rearrange a life faster than thought can keep up. Floods do not merely soak furniture and documents; they soak nerves, sleep, memory, and the sense of safety. Yesterday’s one-day psychosocial support program was not “just a workshop.” It was an attempt at repair on the invisible architecture within people.

This meaningful program was organised by the Negombo Divisional Secretariat Office with the patronage of Hon. Sugath Thilakarathna, Deputy Minister of Sports Welfare, and the Public Service Sports Welfare Association.

The central resource person of the program was Mr. Thaaru Paranavithana, Director of Helping Hand Psychological Hospital, who provided professional guidance for the psychosocial intervention component.

Together with our partner organisation, the Helping Hand Psychological Hospital team facilitated focused healing and resilience-building sessions for individuals affected by the recent floods in Negombo. Participants were guided through emotional grounding, stress recovery, and practical tools to restore a sense of control after disruption.

When homes are shaken, minds deserve rebuilding too.
Real recovery begins where safety is once again felt.

What an inspiring evening! Our Monthly Webinar Series kicked off with ‘Practising Nature-Based Therapy for Positive Outcomes,’ led by the talented Alex Blake, RPm Clinical Psychologist from the Philippines.

From 7-9 PM via Zoom on January 10, attendees delved into evidence-based nature therapy strategies for enhanced mental well-being and the feedback has been phenomenal!
