We successfully concluded our intensive two-day awareness campaign on monkeypox, held at Gbarnga Central Market. This initiative marked a significant milestone for our organization, reflecting our unwavering commitment to public health education and community empowerment in B**g County.

Throughout the campaign, our dedicated team engaged with hundreds of market vendors, shoppers, and local residents, providing crucial information about monkeypox—its symptoms, modes of transmission, prevention strategies, and the importance of early detection. By distributing educational materials, conducting interactive sessions, and answering community questions, we were able to dispel myths and reduce stigma associated with the disease.

This campaign’s success goes beyond mere awareness; it has fostered a stronger sense of vigilance and responsibility among the people of B**g County. We believe that informed communities are empowered communities, and this initiative has laid a solid foundation for ongoing public health advocacy in the region.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all partners, volunteers, and community leaders who supported this effort. Together, we have taken a meaningful step toward preventing the spread of monkeypox and enhancing the overall well-being of our community.

As we move forward, our organization remains dedicated to continuing such impactful programs, ensuring that health education reaches every corner of B**g County and beyond.

The recent monkeypox outbreak in Liberia presents an important opportunity for action and collaboration. With a notable number of cases reported, now also in B**g County, it’s essential that both the government and local organizations come together to develop a robust response strategy. By working collaboratively, we can effectively address this health concern and safeguard the well-being of our communities.

Organizations like Cognitive Thinkers, led by the Community Outreach Coordinator, are taking proactive steps to address this issue. Today, they launched a crucial awareness campaign focused on monkeypox prevention at Suakoko Market in B**g County.

This initiative was not only informative but also empowering, as community members learned valuable strategies to protect themselves from the disease. It underscores the importance of collective action in combating monkeypox and reinforces the idea that, together, we can eradicate it from our communities.

Looking ahead, the team plans to continue this essential work at Gbarnga Central Market tomorrow. Let’s unite our efforts to raise awareness and safeguard our health!

🚨 Important Health Alert: Monkeypox Outbreak in Liberia 🚨

Dear Community Members,
We want to inform you about the current Monkeypox (Mpox) outbreak affecting Liberia. This viral illness is serious but preventable with the right precautions.

What is Monkeypox?
Monkeypox is a contagious viral disease that spreads through close contact with infected people or animals. It causes fever, headache, swollen lymph nodes, and a distinctive rash that progresses through several stages.

Key Symptoms to Watch For:
• Fever and chills
• Headache and muscle aches
• Swollen lymph nodes
• Rash starting on the face and spreading to the body, including palms and soles
• Lesions that develop into blisters and scabs

How to Protect Yourself and Others:

✅ Wash your hands regularly with soap and water
✅ Avoid close or sexual contact with anyone showing symptoms
✅ Do not share personal items like clothing or bedding
✅ Report any symptoms immediately to your nearest health facility
