DIAC – L specially shade light on five basics tenets that are vital to the development of persons with disability and these tenets formed the central force of the operation and all other activities of the organization. Basics Tenets of DIAC – L
There are five basics tenets that formed the core of all of the activities of DIAC – L. these include the following:
Education
We will give considerable attention to the educational sector of disabled individuals’ development as this will enlighten their minds, bodies and souls and thus prepare them to take the mantle of leadership in contributing to meaningful decisions at both the local and national levels. Given the limited amount of resources available to DIAC – L, we will try our best to organize funding programs as well as seek assistant from governmental sectors, donors and institutional scholarships that will benefit and contribute to the advancement of persons with disability. Employment
Hiring posts greater challenge to people with disability in a country where 65% of the labor force is unemployed and disability is often used as a tool to discriminate against disabled and disadvantaged individuals. DIAC – L will seek and negotiate with the government, NGOs, Business sector and other non-profitable organizations to aid in the hiring of people with disability who have gained the skills and knowledge needed to work in any sectors across the country and the world at large. Justice
Justice is central to the wellbeing of any country which intends to maintain and foster its peace. Without justice, there will be no peace as well as no respect for the supreme law of the state as crime of all types and forms will continue to exist without punishment for the perpetrators. People with disability have not gain access to justice as compare to the opposite based on their disability status which is used to discriminate against their rights to freedom of speech, freedom to associate, freedom to education and freedom to employment. We will thereby engage the government of Liberia and her collaborating partners, as well as the international communities with the goal of ensuring that justice for disabled persons is maintain at all time as enshrined in the constitution of the state. Empowerment
In order to maintain a working society where everyone grow and foster, there is indeed a need for empowerment programs that will further help improve the capacity of such environment. Likewise, DIAC – L will attend to seek for both internal and external assistants to enable her built a successful capacity that will help improve and nourish the disables communities across the country of Liberia. We will strive to find both financial and program based empowerment assistant in aiding us meet the needs of persons with disability. Equality
Equality in itself and by norm is only maintained when all persons are treated in the same manner in regardless of their status and background. in a country where the poor are regarded as the least in the class hierarchy, there also doesn’t exist equal treatment for disability individuals. DIAC – L would like to clearly points out that all persons in regardless of their wealth or status, were born equal at birth and shall remain equal at death as well. We will therefore pursue and engage the government of Liberia and its legal partners in order to ensure that the rights of people with disability are not violated and they must protect and ensure equal treatment toward disability individuals at all time
