The Unity Party Lofa County Homecoming and Fundraising Committee met in Matadi over the weekend, where members reviewed earlier decisions and finalized a series of activities leading up to the national fundraising program scheduled for December 6.
Chaired by Hon. Clarence Massaquoi, the session focused on four major events intended to mobilize Lofians across the county and abroad.
The first is a Sports Jamboree planned for Saturday, November 22, 2025. Teams representing “Upper Lofa”, Voinjama, Quadu Gboni, Zorzor, and Salayee, will face players from “Lower Lofa,” covering Kolahun, Foya, and Vahun. The Invincible Sports Park is being considered as a possible venue, though the final selection will depend on availability. Committee discussions indicated that the jamboree aims to build unity and spark early excitement ahead of the December events.
A Cultural Festival and Dollar Rally is set for Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the EJS Ministerial Complex. The program will highlight Lofa County’s cultural traditions through performances and displays, while also serving as a space for supporters to contribute financially toward preparations for the national fundraiser.
The committee reaffirmed December 6 as the central fundraising day, when counties across the country will be making their presentations. Lofa is expected to show strong organization and participation during the national event.
Another major activity will take place in Voinjama, where a Homecoming and Fundraising gathering is being planned. The event will allow residents in the county to receive updates directly, get involved in preparations, and support ongoing efforts to strengthen local structures.
During the meeting, the committee extended a call for wider engagement, including participation from DG Dr. Josiah Joekai, Hon. Patrick Honnah, Hon. Amara Quardu Muhammad Kamara, Hon. Sheikh Sheriff, as well as diaspora supporters such as Mavolo Dorbor and Patrick Kpayeh.
Committee members stated that individuals who were unable to attend Sunday’s meeting should consider this as the latest update on the planned activities leading up to December 6.
