Today, we mark World AIDS Day 2024, we reflect on this year’s powerful theme: "Take the Rights Path." This theme reminds us that the fight against HIV/AIDS is not only about medicine or prevention but also about justice, dignity, and human rights.
Millions of people still face barriers to accessing healthcare and life-saving antiretroviral therapies. Many experience stigma and discrimination due to their HIV status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other intersecting factors. These injustices are not just obstacles—they are violations of fundamental human rights.
"Taking the Rights Path" means ensuring that no one is left behind. It means advocating for a world where:
Health is a right, not a privilege. Access to HIV prevention, testing, and treatment must be universal, regardless of a person’s income, location, or identity.
Today, as we wear the red ribbon, let it be a symbol of our shared commitment to human rights and a reminder of the millions of lives impacted by HIV/AIDS. Let it inspire us to act with compassion and urgency.
Together, let us envision a future where justice, equality, and health belong to all. Let us take the rights path—because only by upholding human rights can we truly end the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Today, we celebrate with each one of you on all the efforts of increasing access of HIV prevention, and treatment that is equal to everyone, free and easy through BonoloMeds .
