🎗️ Cervical Cancer: It’s Quiet… But We’re Louder 🎗️

Cervical cancer is that problem that says,
“Don’t worry, I’ll come back later.”
And later is usually not a good time 😅

📍 What is cervical cancer?
It’s a cancer that affects the cervix (part of the womb).
Most of the time, it shows no pain, no warning, no drama — just vibes… bad vibes.

👀 Here’s the twist:
Cervical cancer is one of the easiest cancers to prevent.
Yes. Prevent. As in before it becomes serious.

👩🏽‍🦱 Ladies of all ages:
If you can remember your phone password,
you can remember to go for screening 😉

👵🏽 Mothers, aunties & gogos:
Screening does NOT mean you are sick.
It means you are wise, responsible, and planning to be around longer.

👧🏽 Young women:
Knowledge today = protection tomorrow. Prevention starts early.

👨🏽 Men:
Encourage your wives, sisters, daughters and partners.
Support saves lives too.

🏥 Good news from the Ministry of Health, Lesotho:
✅ Cervical cancer screening is FREE
✅ Available at your nearest health facility
✅ Quick, simple, and confidential

⏰ A few minutes now can save years of treatment later.
Your body is not a test you can rewrite — but screening gives you a second chance.

📌 Don’t wait for symptoms.
Don’t wait for pain.
Just go.

Visit your nearest health facility today for FREE cervical cancer screening.

Diabetes is among the highest causes of complications and premature deaths from non-communicable diseases.

The Diabetic Federation of Lesotho has been working with Lesotho Ministry of Health over the years to intensify the public knowledge about about this disease.

With the NCDI Cordinating Mechanism, the multi-sectoral and comprehensive committee, the impact of prevention and treatment of all non-communicable diseases in Lesotho has been taken to the next level. The NCDI calls for all stakeholders to continue doing their best part and executing their mandates and accelerating their efforts to combat non-communicable diseases.

Non-communicable Diseases in our communities are real. Everyone has their own story of how they got diagnosed and how the treatment has been.

Today we feature the story of A Registered Nurse-Midwife Ntsekhe that was published in the local newspaper of the reporter.

‘Mantšali Phakoana An estimated 31,000 people suffer the daily effects of diabetes in Lesotho. Each one has their own unique journey and experience in managing the ailment. 🌟 NCDI HEALTH HUB: END-OF-YEAR BREAKFAST VIBES! 🥞🇱🇸
Kick4Life's No.7 Restaurant • Maseru • Today

This morning, the National NCDI Coordinating Mechanism wrapped up 2025 with a warm breakfast and even warmer conversations about the health of Bahlabani ba Lesotho — YOU, the young people shaping the nation’s future.🔥

Representatives from Ministries of Finance, Health, Youth Sports & Recreation, Agriculture, Trade, Industry, Private Sector, NGOs and our amazing sponsors all came through. One vibe, one purpose: protect Lesotho from the growing wave of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).

But let’s get into the real tea. ☕👇

💥 So, What’s Going On With NCDs in Lesotho?

A situational analysis presented today by the NCDI Secretariat showed that NCDs—like diabetes, cancers, hypertension, heart disease, chronic lung illnesses, and mental health disorders—are silently taking away some of our strongest members of our communities too early, our friends and loved ones, and costing the country valuable years of productivity (yup, DALYs are real 🙃).

But here’s the GOOD news: most NCDs are preventable through the choices we make every single day.

And THIS is the message every young Mosotho needs to hear loud and clear.

🚀 YOUR HEALTH = YOUR POWER

Here are the top lifestyle moves the experts want you to lock in for 2026:

💚 Move Your Body
Gym, dancing, hiking, home workouts, football at the grounds—just 30 minutes a day can level up your body and brain.

🍏 Eat Like You Love Your Future
More fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean protein. Fewer chips, sweets, and overly processed snacks. Your body will thank you later.

🚫 Ditch the Alcohol & To***co Trap
Alcohol and smoking are some of the biggest contributors to early deaths and disability. Reducing or quitting is not just for “old people”—it’s a power move for anyone who wants to glow inside AND outside.

🩺 Get Screened Early
Blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, cancer screening—don’t wait till symptoms show. Prevention is cooler than treatment, always.

🌈 FINAL TAKEAWAY:

Your health is the one area where YOU have the final say.
2026 is your year to build stronger habits, healthier bodies, and brighter futures. ✨

Let’s normalize young people and Basotho in general choosing wellness. Because a healthier YOU means a healthier LESOTHO. 🇱🇸💙
