Workshop of Photonics We deliver innovative, precise, and effective femtosecond laser micromachining technology and solutions for industry and science needs.

At Workshop of Photonics we create instruments and solutions for laser micromachining tasks. We address the needs of both industrial and academic customers. Our key competencies lie in:
* Feasibility studies on femtosecond laser micromachining
* Development of custom femtosecond laser systems and optical modules
* Small scale production (job shop) in the area of laser micromachining
* Laser system automation software
* Custom electronics for laser based systems and devices

Since 2003 we have been carrying out extensive research in the field of femtosecond laser micromachining. By now we have gained significant knowledge in developing of laser micromachining workstations and optimizing femtosecond laser processes for unique tasks. Our growth is fueled by culture of open innovation and partnership with the local laser sector companies and worldwide partners. Workshop of Photonics is constantly involved in projects connecting scientific inventions with the market needs.

Here is the coat of arms of Lithuania - an armoured knight on horseback, wielding a sword and carrying a shield. This emblem, known as Vytis, was created in our Workshop of Photonics lab using femtosecond with selective laser (SLE).
💛💚❤️
Today is a perfect occasion to showcase this image, as February 16th marks the Day of the Restoration of the State of Lithuania!

Happy Independence Day, !

Is micro still a challenge? Even with ultrafast laser technology, which has made the process highly controllable and commercially reliable?

techniques, as demonstrated in our video (with some features already improved), enable drilling of micro-scale features with far greater control and consistency. Holes can be extremely small, clean, and precise. The process itself avoids physical contact, minimizes thermal effects, and supports a wide range of glass types.

However, even with Workshop of Photonics extensive experience in , which spans over 🔟 years, we still encounter challenging tasks!

What about your challenge? As we might have a solution 😎🚀

🚀 Big news from Workshop of Photonics! After more than a decade of creating space variant retarders (SVR), we’re introducing our new brand - ®. 🚀
Born from femtosecond laser , ORISANDO® is a dedicated brand for Space-Variant Retarders (SVRs) - optical elements that control polarization with nanometric precision.

The new brand name comes with a new website and e-shop, where you can order most items online! 🎉 Visit 👉 orisando.com!

And yes, the name! It was born during a visit to Japan. The name ORISANDO® embodies both technical originality and symbolic depth.
💿 “ORI” reflects originality and a unique production approach.
💿 “SANDŌ,” derived from Japanese, represents a pathway, symbolizing the journey of light.
💿 “SAND” references the fused silica glass derived from pure quartz sand, the foundation of the optical elements.
Framed by two “O” s, the name symbolizes the optical elements themselves. The logo’s design represents a stylized light path leading to the final “O,” emphasizing the fusion of science and precision engineering.

Well, let us know what do you think!😎

Our favorite examples of micro using selective laser ablation - zebra and the Einstein!

is a quite common industrial laser application.
It ensures high processing speed and high quality of the processed area.

This method allows for the precise removal of small portions of material layers without damaging the underlying substrate, utilizing femtosecond laser pulses. The depth and geometry of ablation may vary, making this method suitable for a variety of applications.

A system that can be easily adapted for various applications? The one that meets the demands of different research teams and fulfills all their requirements?
These are extremely important aspects, and as we work in the field of femtosecond lasers ourselves and explore various research areas, we understand this very well.

That's why we developed our - a femtosecond laser micromachining workstation designed for use, making it an ideal choice for laboratories and centers.

So, what are the benefits of ?
💙 All-in-one platform. This workstation is designed to perform multiple applications, not just one.
💙 Combined processes. It integrates both additive and subtractive process capabilities in a single workstation.
💙 Submicron resolution. Achieve a minimum feature size of 200 nm.
💙 Full support. We will install the workstation at your location and provide training for your team.

The project is moving forward! Workshop of Photonics | W*P has successfully completed its task: the machine designed for texturing the project demonstrators (the Francis turbine and the mold for impeller blades) has been installed, and the testing phase is set to begin.

The laser machine integrates all components and modules provided by other members of the consortium and is capable of precisely positioning the complex 3D-shaped workpieces according to a predefined algorithm.

A newly created infographic for clearly explains this bio-inspired laser functionalization technology at a glance. This solution for aims to reduce friction and enhance the environmental footprint of industrial parts!
