The full moon falling at a time when the sun is in the Zodiac sign of Leo, is known as Guru Purnima or the Full Moon of the Spiritual Teacher.
The constellation of Leo is connected with the mysteries of the Sphinx, the Nemean lion of Hercules and in India the Avatar of Vishnu- Narasimha. It is linked with the ability of the soul to acknowledge and begin its process of evolving out of its animal nature.
This full moon, people express their gratitude to the Spiritual Teacher who has helped them evolve to a higher place.
