Advancing Regional Collaboration: MCU at the ASEAN Youth Forum on Consumer Protection 2026

The Myanmar Consumers Union (MCU) is pleased to announce that Ko Myo Min Thu (Wilson Singh), Youth Program Lead of MCU, represented Myanmar as both delegate and invited speaker at the ASEAN Youth Forum on Consumer Protection 2026, held from 9 to 11 February 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

During the forum, he contributed to the session on “The Role of Youth in Developing Consumer Advocacy”, presenting MCU’s youth‑centered strategies, our commitment to strengthening consumer awareness, and the vital role of young people in shaping a fair, responsible, and future‑ready consumer landscape across ASEAN.

The programme convened youth leaders from 11 ASEAN Member States, creating a dynamic platform for regional collaboration, shared learning, and collective visioning. Engagements at the ASEAN Secretariat and the University of Indonesia further reinforced MCU’s dedication to advancing consumer protection with professionalism, regional coherence, and a forward‑looking global perspective.

MCU extends its sincere appreciation to our partners, mentors, and colleagues including GIZ and members of the ASEAN Consumer Associations Network (ACAN) for their continued support and collaboration. This regional milestone strengthens MCU’s determination to expand impactful youth initiatives and contribute meaningfully to ASEAN’s evolving consumer protection ecosystem.
