AM DX SW 5960 KHz CNR 1 Voice of China in Chinese From Malta. It was caught on 21/09/2025 at around 01:30 AM (UTC+2). The XHDATA D-808 was placed indoors that the reception levels were strong and very audible. It did quite well on the 49 Meter Band. According to Short Wave Info, the schedule is still up which is transmitting from 01:10 AM to 02:00 AM (UTC+2). FM DX unID Egyptian 106.5 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. It was caught on 13/09/2025 at around 10:45 AM (UTC+2). The place of catch is around Selmun which duct tropo conditions were observed towards parts in Egypt and Eastern Libya whilst weather conditions were humid and a bit cloudy with plenty of sunshine. It is difficult to trace which station this might be but according to ChatGPT when decoded what it was being said, it clarified that this had to be ‘Egyptian Arabic’ which coincides with the catches that I was getting on the day. For sure, this is not Al Ittihad FM from Libya neither and also from the point getting this reception, on the other side of Malta. Any feedback is welcome 😊 73!

FM DX SRR Radio Romania Actualitati Gorj 92.9 MHz From Malta [Sporadic-E][2025]. It was caught on 20/06/2025 at around 20:25 PM (UTC+2). It was a great evening of many countries being caught such as Romania, Moldova, Poland with a hint of Serbia. The TEF6686 did quite well whilst connected with the 7 Element Yagi Antenna. It reached RDS levels on displaying ‘RRACTUAL’ with its PI Code ‘EE00’. It is broadcasting from Romania’s Novaci FM Transmitter that houses around 100 kW in transmission power which is approximately 1,300 kilometres away towards Gorj. 73 😊

AM DX MW 1107 KHz RNE Radio 5 Santander From Oxford. It was caught on 30/12/2021 at around 20:40 PM (UTC+0). This was during the stay in Oxford due to family’s medical reasons. This was recorded inside Conifers Guest House. The transmission is audible despite the number of jumps being noticed. There are a number of ideal transmitters from which this can be transmitting but the ideal is from Spain’s Rostrio Transmitter that housed 20 kW in transmission power which was approximately 940 kilometres away towards Santander. 73 😊

Recorded around Fontana Di Diana. The XHDATA D-808 did well whilst RDS levels reached by displaying ‘KISSKISS’. It is broadcasting from Sicily’s Siracusa FM Transmitter that houses an unknown transmission power which is approximately 3 kilometres away around Siracusa. 73 😊

FM DX Radio Margherita Siracusa 95.6 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. It was caught on 25/03/2023 at around 14:45 PM (UTC+1). The weather seemed fine which temperatures were around 20 Degrees Celsius as there was more than normal than usual tropo. Being observed at Fgura, it literally shadowed the local radio station, Deejays Radio that is broadcasting from Fgura itself. Bumper ID is heard by 0:32 as Italian adverts are heard. ID is heard by 1:34 which mentions regions around Sicily that it is covered. ID is heard again by 1:50. It reached RDS levels on displaying ‘MARGHRTA’. Nowadays, it switched to 95.7 MHz. It is broadcasting from Sicily’s Pachino FM Transmitter which back then it housed only just 500 Watts (0.5 kW) of transmission power as nowadays it houses around 2 kW, which is approximately 110 kilometres away towards Siracusa. 73 😊

Moderate tropo levels observed towards parts in Tunisia and Libya whilst being around in Zurrieq. Temperatures reached 27 Degrees Celsius during the evening. It reached RDS levels by displaying ‘CULTURE’. The XHDATA D-808 was placed indoors which it proved to have the best audible reception, despite some whitish noise. According to Short Wave Info, the schedule is still on air which broadcasts from 18:00 PM to 19:00 PM (UTC+2) every day. It is broadcasting from Mali’s Bamako Transmitter of around 100 kW in power which is approximately 3,425 kilometres away towards Bamako. 73 😊

FM DX Radio Dimensione Suono (RDS) Cagliari 105.8 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. It was caught on 17/08/2024 at around Noon (UTC+2). Duct tropo conditions towards parts in Sardegna which some reached RDS levels whilst being around Had Dingli area. The TEF6686 effort was being pulled through despite the static as it was next to local Radju Malta 105.9 MHz. It did not reach RDS levels. It is broadcasting from Sardegna’s Sinnai FM Transmitter that houses around 12.6 kW in transmission power which is approximately 595 kilometres away towards Cagliari. 73 😊

FM DX TRT Radyo 3 Ege 90.0 MHz From Malta [Sporadic-E][2024]. It was caught on 02/08/2024 at around 17:35 PM (UTC+2). The only catch towards Turkey which managed to encode its RDS Data as showing as ‘MUDYTE - RA.0 MHZ - 90NI MI - DENI MI - COKELEZ - TRT - RADYO 3 - MUZIKTE - 90.0 MHz - DENIZLI - TRT LE - RAT 83’, with its PI Code ‘3203’. The TEF6686 did quite well whilst connected with the 7 Element Yagi Antenna. It is broadcasting from Turkey’s Denizli FM Transmitter that houses around 36 kW in transmission power which is approximately 1,330 kilometres away towards Ege. 73 😊

AM DX MW 981 KHz Rai Radio 3 Classica Trieste From Oxford. It was caught on 31/12/2021 at around 01:00 AM (UTC+0). This was recorded on New Year’s Eve while staying in Oxford due to family’s medical reasons. The place of catch is inside the Conifers Guest House. The station’s originality was to air Rai Radio Trieste during the daytime which at night time, it relays Rai Radio 3 Classica. The XHDATA D-808 did quite well as it was quite audible, despite some whitish waves are heard. It stopped broadcasting by 11th September 2022 as part of Rai’s winding down on medium wave. It used to be broadcasting from Italy’s Monte Radio Transmitter that housed around 10 kW in transmission power which is approximately 1,290 kilometres towards Trieste. 73 😊

The place of catch is at Hotel Regente which the room had good reception. The TEF6686 did quite well which RDS levels were reached by displaying ‘LOS40 CL’ with its PI Code bearing ‘E230’.
