The Sacred Flow & Why Some Women Skip Their Periods 💃 🙏💖
Our menstrual cycle isn’t just a physical process,
it’s a rhythm, a pulse, a whisper from the womb that guides us through release, renewal, intuition, and rebirth. Our bleed is one of the deepest expressions of feminine wisdom… a monthly invitation to slow down and listen.
So when I hear more women are taking the pill back-to-back to skip their periods, my first thought is:
Why are so many of us feeling the need to silence this powerful inner rhythm? Why are we disconnecting from something so ancient and sacred?
Life doesn’t always give us space to bleed.
Travel, weddings, performances, work demands. Sometimes a woman chooses to pause her cycle simply to move through life with more ease. It’s more convenient not to have them. This doesn’t make her less spiritual or less connected. It’s simply a choice in a particular moment.
Some women skip their periods for very real medical reasons as not every woman’s cycle feels like a blessing. For many, it brings pain, inflammation, exhaustion, emotional spirals, or debilitating symptoms. Continuous pill use can be a lifeline for women dealing with:
• endometriosis
• PCOS or irregular, unpredictable bleeding
• severe PMS or PMDD
• hormone-triggered migraines
• anaemia
• very heavy or painful periods
These women aren’t “avoiding nature.”
They’re trying to function, to breathe in a body that has felt overwhelming.
Honouring the feminine also means honouring their reality.
But on a deeper perspective: Your womb holds wisdom whether you bleed or not
Skipping a bleed doesn’t disconnect you from your feminine essence.
You are not less powerful or intuitive.
Your body’s wisdom doesn’t switch off.
Your womb is an energy centre, a portal of creativity, intuition, and emotional alchemy.
Its magic remains, whether you bleed monthly or not at all.
There is no “right” or “wrong” way to be a woman.
There is only your way. Your body. Your wisdom.
May we honour every story,
those who bleed, those who don’t, and those who are still learning to trust their own sacred flow.
