What a great way to end the day yesterday! 🎉

The Parliamentary Committee has approved the Registration and Warranting of Sign Language Interpreters Bill, 2025, which will now move to its third reading! 👏

This important milestone brings us one step closer to formally recognising the essential work of sign language interpreters, strengthening professional recognition and ensuring high quality standards across the sector.

🎉And even more exciting — this was the first ever Parliamentary Committee in Malta to be broadcast with sign language interpretation! A truly historic and inclusive moment.

Il-Kumitat Parlamentari approva l-Abbozz ta’ Liġi dwar ir-Reġistrazzjoni u l-Ħruġ ta’ Warrant għall-Interpreti tal-Lingwa tas-Sinjali, 2025, li issa se jimxi għat-tielet qari. 👏

Dan il-pass importanti jressaqna eqreb lejn rikonoxximent formali tax-xogħol essenzjali tal-interpreti tal-lingwa tas-sinjali, billi jsaħħaħ ir-rikonoxximent professjonali u jiżgura livelli għoljin ta’ kwalità fis-settur.

Today, the Parliamentary Committee approved the Registration and Warranting of Sign Language Interpreters Bill 2025, with amendments.

A significant step toward strengthening inclusivity, professional standards, and the recognition of sign language interpreters.

We are now expecting the third and final reading soon!
