💪 Why the Right Assessment Matters in Physiotherapy
We recently had a client who had been attending physiotherapy elsewhere for about three months — but their shoulder issue was being missed. After just two sessions with us, we’ve already started to see improvement.
The problem? A rotator cuff condition that required a multimodal approach — something that only becomes clear with a good evaluation , sometimes continuing in second visit.
👉 Assessment skills are crucial for any physiotherapist. A misdiagnosis can throw the entire treatment plan off course. ( There are times that a diagnosis might not be necessary, however one still needs to make sure to target the necessary needs) . These skills come from ongoing postgraduate training and hands-on experience.
It’s also worth noting:
Physios have different training and expertise
Physios use different treatment approaches
Physios have access to different equipment and tools
So, if you haven’t seen improvement with physiotherapy, one or more of these factors might be the issue.
And remember — don’t rely solely on a medical professional’s referral. Many simply refer based on familiarity, connections, or business interests, not necessarily on clinical outcomes.
At Physiocare, we’re proud to have built a strong reputation through years of experience, high standards, and a dedicated team effort.
Before choosing a service provider, do your research and make sure you are getting the care you deserve.
Cheers .
