This month, our COO, Mr Noel Borg, and our Senior Nursing Manager, Mrs Zvetlana Debono, attended the BetterCare COST Action meeting in Helsinki. The main goal was to discuss patient safety beyond hospital settings and into informal caregiving.

This meeting, funded by COST – European Cooperation in Science and Technology and supported by LAB University of Applied Sciences, brings together countries and key stakeholders to agree on shared priorities. These include preventing caregiver errors, strengthening safer care transitions, and building practical support for both caregivers and care recipients.

The CareMalta Group representatives were also accompanied by Prof. Sandra Buttigieg, Head of the Department of Health Systems Management & Leadership at the University of Malta.

Together, we continue working towards safer and better care for all.

The Founder of Vassallo Group, Mr Nazzareno Vassallo, visited all CareMalta’s facilities to personally greet each resident and present them with a small gift for Easter. An annual gesture as a reminder of the care and community spirit that lies at the core of CareMalta Group.

During a courtesy visit at the San Anton Palace to H.E Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, a donation was presented by the Group CEO of Vassallo Group Malta, Pio Vassallo and the management of CareMalta Group, led by CEO James Sciriha, in aid of The Malta Community Chest Fund.

The funds were raised in an initiative which was started by the late sports journalist Mario Meli, who was a resident in one of CareMalta's Facilities.

Matul din il-laqgħa ġiet ippreżentata donazzjoni b’risq il-Malta Community Chest Fund, li nġabret f’inizjattiva li kien beda il-mibki ġurnalist sportiv Mario Meli u li issa tinsab fit-tielet sena tagħha.

▪️ H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, hosted the management of CareMalta Group and Hila for a courtesy visit at the San Anton Palace.

They explained to the President the work they carry out daily across their facilities around Malta and Gozo, in terms of caring for the elderly, people with dementia and people with disabilities.

During this meeting, a donation was presented in aid of The Malta Community Chest Fund, which was raised in an initiative started by the late sports journalist Mario Meli and is now in its third year.

CareMalta Group donated in support of an initiative by 20-year-old Gozitan Matthew Galea, with funds going towards Puttinu Cares. On Thursday, 19th March, Matthew will be undertaking a cycling marathon in Gozo. The 40km marathon will start and finish in the main square of Għarb, Gozo.

Matthew Galea, who works at Dar San Gużepp facility in Għajnsielem, operated by CareMalta Group, has made this a yearly initiative since 2024.

Our residents had the pleasure of attending the 🌻 Sunflower Festival, organised in aid of Hospice Malta. It was a beautiful initiative, supporting an important cause. Well done to everyone involved for making this event special. 💛

We had the pleasure of welcoming the PN Leader, Alex Borg, to Roseville for a special visit. During the visit, he met our residents and our dedicated staff.

Today we made the most of the last day of Carnival 🥳 Due to the weather conditions, throughout all our facilities, we organised indoor activities instead.

Spending time together, playing games, dancing, and enjoying each other’s company made the day definitely full of fun 💛
