At the Bloom Psychology Clinic our main focus is to enhance health, not treat pathology. We help our clients to become more aware of themselves, which includes gaining insight on how they play a part in their difficulties. Having been influenced by the Gestalt philosophy, we believe that people potentially have all the necessary abilities to solve their problems, however sometimes they get stuck and need support - this is when therapy is helpful! Our young and energetic team is made up of professionally trained psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors and family therapists. Through our knowledge and presence as therapists, we focus on creating a safe and holding environment that will allow our clients to grow (or Bloom!). Some of the most common problems that people come to us with are:
Anxiety
Depression
Relationship difficulties
Self-esteem and body image issues
Work stress and burnout
Bullying
Bereavement
You can book an appointment for a first session by sending us a FB message, by e-mailing us on info@bloomclinic.com.mt or by calling us on 99013629. The first session will be a mutual assessment session, where both the therapist and client have a chance to explore whether they would like to go on this therapeutic journey and whether the fit between therapist and client is a good one. Usually clients communicate what they would like to achieve through therapy, then together with the therapist, they assess whether therapy is the right thing for them. There are no obligations to continue therapy after the first session and the client is in complete control of his or her journey throughout the therapeutic process. However, if the client decides to terminate therapy after a substantial number of sessions, we usually advise that there is one final session for closure. Sessions normally last from 45 minutes to 1 hour and the frequency can vary from once weekly to once monthly depending on how much support persons feel they need at that point in their lives. Such practical agreements can be negotiated with the therapist during the first session.
