One team, moving forward together.

Yesterday, 15 April, our AX Care Townhall created space for teams to review progress, share thoughts, and move ahead with clarity. Led by our Director of Care, Ms Claire Xuereb, it brought together colleagues from Simblija Care Home, Hilltop Gardens, Revive Physio Centre and The Orchard.

A moment to remind us that our strength comes from our people and the way we care for others.

Every week, Mario Mizzi brings music, joy, and a wonderful sense of togetherness to our residents at Simblija Care Home.

Familiar melodies spark cherished memories, while livelier tunes gently invite many to their feet for a dance, filling the room with lightness, laughter, and truly positive energy. Those who prefer to remain seated are just as much a part of the moment, joining in with clapping hands and rhythmic gestures, creating a shared experience for all.

It is always heart-warming to witness how music brings out a youthful spirit in everyone. 💛

A truly special and emotional moment at Simblija 💛

We organised a surprise for one of our residents, who in her earlier years was a primary school teacher. One of her former students visited her and prepared a beautiful surprise just for her.

Before his performance, he shared a touching video of her hometown feast, bringing back so many memories. They spent time chatting, reminiscing, and reliving those meaningful moments together.

He then gave a wonderful performance, playing the mandolin and singing classic oldies. His talent and gesture truly moved her, and other residents happily joined in, enjoying the music together.

Happy Easter from all of us at Simblija 🌼🐣

We celebrated Easter together with our residents in a warm and joyful atmosphere, surrounded by beautiful decorations and great company. The day was filled with fun riddles and activities, followed by a lovely sing along with a mix of Maltese, English, French and Italian classics that everyone enjoyed.

Our Head of Care Marija and the entire care team did their best to make Easter a truly special and memorable day for our residents 💛

We enjoyed a lovely morning visit with the students from Maria Regina College, Naxxar at our Simblija senior residence.

The visit started in the chapel, where Fr Julian explained the meaning behind the beautiful artworks and concluded with a short recital on his flute. The morning continued with one of our weekly activities, as residents and students came together to sing classic songs.

The students are currently raising funds for missionary work in Peru and Guatemala by selling handmade goods and cards. Our seniors were happy to support the initiative by contributing to this meaningful cause 💛

We have been enjoying a number of Easter activities with our residents, and this was one of them. A lovely craft session where everyone created handmade Easter cards, choosing their own colours and finishing each piece with a special diamond touch.

With soft music in the background, it was a calm and joyful moment that brought out everyone’s creativity.

Each resident took home their creation, with many choosing to share their cards with their loved ones 💛

💛 A Morning Full of Energy, Laughter & Connection at Simblija 💛

Today we welcomed nursing students from University for a lively intergenerational session, and our residents absolutely loved every moment. These activities bring so much joy, helping our residents feel energised, youthful, and deeply connected. 🌼✨

We began with gentle breathing exercises to set a positive tone, followed by simple warm‑up movements. Then the fun truly began!
🎯 Friendly aiming games
🎨 A colourful parachute that filled the room with laughter
🔵 A noodle‑and‑circle challenge that boosted motor skills and teamwork

💃 Classic songs, singing, and dancing right until the end
The room was filled with enthusiasm, teamwork, and plenty of smiles. It was a heart‑warming morning where generations came together - learning, laughing, and uplifting one another.

Such moments remind us how powerful connection can be. 💛
