Dear patients,

Today, after more than 16 years at Anici Medical centre, I bid farewell to a clinic that has been nothing but my second home.

I wish to take the opportunity to thank the previous and present owners of the pharmacy together with all the people who have worked there during all these years.

As of tomorrow I will be offering my services at St. George Pharmacy in Qormi. I wish to thank the owner and current doctors in this clinic for welcoming me onboard.

For appointments, as usual, kindly call, message or WhatsApp on 79652474.

Keep well and God Bless

Keith

Dear Patients,

In the coming days the government will be distributing COVID vaccines to GPs that have enrolled in the national vaccination programme.
I am currently taking a list of all patients who are interested to be vaccinated.
Vaccination will be inline with the directives and authorisations issued by the Health Authorities. As such, although I will be taking a list of all patients, the vaccine will be given first to the 50 years and older. Other age groups will be vaccinated according to authorisation by the Health Department.
Please also note that the vaccine administered will be the Astra Zenica one, and this cannot be changed unless the patient suffers from one of the conditions listed by the Health Authorities.

In view of all this, I will be continuing taking bookings of the patients interested. You can book in the following manner:
1. Contact me on Phone, SMS, Messenger or Whatsapp or through my FB page
2. Contact Anici Medical Centre on 21487162

We would need the following information:
1. Name & Surname
2. ID
3. Date of Birth
4. Mobile Number

I would lastly like to take the opportunity to thank the staff at Anici Medical Centre, without whose help, I would not be able to offer this service.

Thanks, stay safe and take care of each other

Good morning
Many patients are asking me regarding these COVID tests done in pharmacies.

Kindly find the following statement issued by a public health expert (below). In a nutshell, these tests are very limited and should and can not be used to verify someone as being non infected.

Be well and stay safe. Avoid crowded areas and always wear a mask.

Dr. Keith

"We have been informed that a number of pharmacies and general practitioners may be offering point of care tests for COVID-19 IgG or IgM or both.

Please note that, despite what is written on the inserts of the tests, their sensitivity has been assessed by various public health labs around Europe and they all seem to have around 40% sensitivity. The specificity varies up to over 90% but sensitivity is very low. Nonetheless, even if sensitivity and specificity had been 100%, the information is still limited.

We know the following about COVID-19 IgM and IgG.

- Not all patients seroconvert. This is particularly true for IgM, but also for IgG.
- Both IgM and IgG tend to rise quite late in the infection, typically towards the end of the third week (Day 21). IgM might pre-date IgG by a couple of days max but it may not rise at all as well.
- Being positive for IgG does not indicate active infection. If anything, it indicates that the infection that led to that rise is over or almost over.
- Being negative for IgG does not mean that you have not had the infection. You may have been infected but did not seroconvert. You may have also been infected more than 2-3 months ago and your IgG has waned off.
- There is no evidence yet whether a person who has had COVID-19 and is IgG positive cannot be re-infected in a subclinical manner and thus potentially infect other people.

Hope this info helps. Alas the clinical implication of a result of a PoC antibody test is highly limited."
