World Autism Awareness Day is a reminder that while wearing a blue top is a lovely gesture, the real impact comes from how we act daily. Some ideas that help inclusion:

Listen to parents' worries & what works at home. Parents know their child best!

Be open to make changes to help student even if you are a specialist & you think your method is best...it may not be (sorry)!

Remind your child not to bully anyone at school! A lot of kids are suffering from bullying...teach your child not to call other kids names...so make sure you don't call your child names from your end!

Parents/Teachers: Mind your attitude about others who are different, kids watch adults & model them! So make sure you have a positive attitude yourself & that you TRULY embrace difference!

✨ Encourage your child to send an invite for playdates & parties to peers with Down Syndrome too
✨ Focus on the individual, not the diagnosis. Words matter! Call your friend by his name!
✨ Advocate for businesses that hire adults with Down syndrome
✨ Support inclusive classrooms where every child has the chance to learn together
✨ Inclusion is a right for everyone: don't just speak about it
