What a beautiful few days it’s been — full of community, kindness, and shared moments. A heartfelt thank you to our volunteers who spent their time showing CPR and choking response techniques, and to everyone who stopped by to learn, chat, or simply support.

Friday was a great start to the Christmas market — full of warmth, smiles, and community spirit 🎄❤️
A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers who gave their time showing CPR and choking response techniques, sharing life-saving knowledge with everyone who stopped by.

We’re back for two more days at Milied mal-Għaqdiet at Palazzo Francesco, Ħal Lija, with festive vibes, meaningful conversations, and some lovely gifts and items available.

From dinghies to keelboats to maxi yachts, one thing remains constant: when people are on the water, safety must come first.

During the MAPFRE Euromed International Championship, our teams were proud to be present throughout the event, providing medical cover and safety support to sailors, coaches and volunteers.

Working alongside organisers and officials, we remain focused on what matters most — preparedness, vigilance, and rapid response when it counts.

Thank you to the Euromed Championship organisers and the sailing community for the trust placed in us.

During today’s discussion, Mr. Kevin Agius – Master First Aider shared important reminders about common accidents during the festive season and how to respond safely:

🍳 Burns
Cool burns immediately under running water and cover with cling film. Seek professional medical help if blisters form or if the burn is larger than the palm of the hand.

🔪 Cuts
Apply direct pressure to stop bleeding, clean the wound, and cover with a dressing or plaster. If a cut is deep or won’t stop bleeding, seek medical attention for stitches.

🫁 Choking
Encourage coughing if the person can. If choking persists, back blows and abdominal thrusts may be needed. Never leave the person alone — attract attention and get help immediately.

🍷 Alcohol-related risks
Never drink and drive. If someone is intoxicated, place them in the recovery position to keep their airway clear and reduce the risk of choking.

✨ Final reminder
Many accidents are preventable. Stay calm, stay alert, and consider giving First Aid training as a gift — it’s a skill that can save lives.

Preparedness isn’t panic. It’s responsibility.

Today we gathered as volunteers to give blood — a small act with a powerful impact.
One blood donation can help save up to three lives, thanks to how it’s used to help multiple patients.

A heartfelt thank you to the Blood Donation Unit Malta — the nurses were incredible, welcoming, and full of passion for what they do. They truly make the experience a positive one.

Thank you as well to EAT for generously treating our volunteers to hot dogs and chips — very much appreciated and a perfect boost after donating. ❤🩸
