🇬🇧 Certain 𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘀 💊 may look like sweets, but they are not! Taking too many can be harmful ⚠️.
🧒 Keep vitamins out of reach of children.
❌ Don’t call them sweets when talking to children. Instead, explain simply what they are for and why too much can be dangerous.
If a child accidentally takes extra vitamins, call 📞𝟭𝟳𝟳𝟰 for advice.

Today we had the pleasure of hosting 3rd year Pharmacology students from the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics at UM. They discovered how the Poisons Centre operates and even tried their hand at solving a few toxicology cases! 🧪💊

Kellna wkoll diversi mistoqsijiet minn dawk preżenti. Flimkien, esplorajna kif nagħmlu djarna aktar siguri u ddiskutejna x'għandna nagħmlu f'każ ta' avvelenament u kif telefonata fil-ħin fuq 📞1774 tista' tagħmel differenza!

🇬🇧 Yesterday, we had the pleasure of giving an interactive presentation to the members of Nanniet Malta – Mosta Hub. It was a lovely morning where we delivered a lesson with a smile. We also had several questions from those present. Together, we explored how to make our homes safer and discussed what to do in case of poisoning and how a timely phone call on 📞1774 can make a difference!

🍯 Agħti 2 kuċċarini għasel kull 10 minuti, sa 6 darbiet. Dan jista’ jgħin biex jipproteġi s-sistena diġestiva waqt li tkun fi triqtek lejn l-isptar

🇬🇧 Although they may seem small, 𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 can cause serious internal burns if swallowed! If you suspect a button battery has been swallowed:
❌ DO NOT TRY TO VOMIT
❌ DO NOT EAT or DRINK anything else
✅ Go to the Emergency Department immediately
🍯 Give 2 teaspoons of honey every 10 minutes, up to 6 times. This can help protect the digestive system while you are on your way to the hospital

💧 Laħlaħ għajnek b’ilma ġieri għal 15–20 minuta

🇬🇧 A splash of a cleaning product or laboratory chemical in the eye 👁️ can cause serious damage! Here’s what you should do immediately:
❌ Remove contact lenses
💧 Flush your eye with running water for 15–20 minutes
👀 Blink your eyes frequently and avoid rubbing them
