If your child is in speech - skip this post- it’s not relevant 😘

Milestones can be so helpful for parents to know when a speech and language evaluation is needed but these are NOT the end all- be all. Many kids can meet milestones and need speech therapy while others may be behind on milestones but not need speech therapy.

But I am soooooo pro evaluation and early intervention that I think these are helpful to many! Once a child is getting support - meeting milestones may be a goal but is also may not be the goal. And getting an evaluation and determining a need to speech support is SO MUCH more than a simple list of skills. So- if your child isn’t quite meeting these, I recommend an evaluation. If your child IS meeting these but anyone thinks an evaluation is needed, I recommend an evaluation!
