“Bondieu ine avoye ou pu pou gette nous ti dimoune,”.. a few weeks ago an old lady whom I operated held my hand and told me this when she was leaving the clinic.
Those words had a deep impact on me. Rarely had I found felt such a profound happiness and a sense of purpose. It was a quiet, radiant sentence that settled into my soul with the warmth of sunlight on a weary back after long hours of surgery on that day.
In that simple sentence, I heard more than just words. I heard the echo of every heartbeat I’ve listened to with care, every calloused hand I’ve held, and every tear I’ve witnessed falling into silence. ..
It’s a noble purpose even if it means walking barefoot through the fragile alleys of human suffering .. and not above it. To speak the language of humility, and to offer healing not only through medicine, but through presence, compassion, and dignity.
There is poetry in serving those who cannot repay, for in their eyes lies a quiet kind of gratitude that no wealth can counterfeit..
Thank you all for your trust .. it means everything to me 💛
