Lavanya Sunassy-Pather is a seasoned Dietitian with over 15 yearsโ€™ experience in Nutrition & Dietetics, and 6 yearsโ€˜ experience in a hospital setting in India and Mauritius.

Since 2009, she has provided nutrition and dietetic counselling to patients from various parts of the world, including Continental Africa, France, India, Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion Island, and the Seychelles.
As a Dietitian, she also provides her expertise in a private hospital, primarily focusing on cancer patients.

Lavanya served as Head of the Dietetics Department at the Apollo Bramwell Hospital (now Wellkin Hospital), the largest private hospital in Mauritius. She was part of a multi-disciplinary team to attend ICU patients on enteral and parenteral nutrition.

In 2019, Lavanya intervened as Dietitian in the 10th Edition of the Indian Ocean Island Games, where she provided counselling, meal planning and follow-ups for around 300 Mauritian athletes over a period of 3 months.

In March 2024, I won my first two bronze medals at the JKA Mauritius Cup. I was then orange belt, still at the beginning stage and still understanding what is Karate.

One and half years later,14th December 2025, I won my first 2 silver medals as a green belt in karate at the 6th Ambassador's cup.

It was a moment of self- satisfaction, not for the medals, but for all the effort and the journey it took to get there.

As a Dietitian, and as a woman, I have always believed in the importance of challenging oneself. Going out of your comfort zone, pushing yourself little further everyday. Only then you can achieve self- growth.

I firmly believe that small steps take you far.

Our Story

Lavanya has more than 11 yearsโ€™ experience in Nutrition & Dietetics and 6 years โ€˜ experience in a hospital set up. She has been part of a multi-disciplinary team to attend ICU patients on enteral and parenteral nutrition. She notably served as Head of the Dietetics Department at the Apollo Bramwell Hospital (now Wellkin Hospital), the largest private hospital in Mauritius. She holds a BSc in Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics and an MSc in Clinical Nutrition.

In the first half of 2019, she intervened as Dietitian in the 10th Edition of the Indian Ocean Island Games, conducting counselling, meal planning and follow-ups for around 300 Mauritian athletes over a period of 3 months.

Since 2012, she has been collaborating with organisations such as MCB Forward Foundation, SOS Childrenโ€™s Villages and Global Rainbow Foundation with a view to promoting balanced and healthy food habits and enabling sustainable nutritional changes among her target audiences.

The core domains of expertise of Lavanya include:
