Registered Dietitian with 16 years' experience | Director of Wellbeing Programmes, Wellthy Hub | Past Head of Dietetics at the largest private hospital in Mauritius | Interventions at a private hospital for cancer patients Holder of a BSc in Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics and an MSc in Clinical Nutrition, she notably served as Head of the Dietetics Department at the Apollo Bramwell Hospital (now Wellkin Hospital), the largest private hospital in Mauritius. In the first half of 2019, she intervened as Dietitian in the 10th Edition of Indian Ocean Island Games, conducting counselling, meal planning and follow-ups for circa 300 Mauritian athletes over a period of 3 months. Since 2012, she has been accompanying both individuals and organisations with a view to promoting balanced and healthy food habits and enabling sustainable nutritional changes among the Mauritian population. In March 2024, I won my first two bronze medals at the JKA Mauritius Cup. I was then orange belt, still at the beginning stage and still understanding what is Karate.

One and half years later,14th December 2025, I won my first 2 silver medals as a green belt in karate at the 6th Ambassador's cup.

It was a moment of self- satisfaction, not for the medals, but for all the effort and the journey it took to get there.

As a Dietitian, and as a woman, I have always believed in the importance of challenging oneself. Going out of your comfort zone, pushing yourself little further everyday. Only then you can achieve self- growth.

I firmly believe that small steps take you far.

Your food habits and an adapted diet can however really make a difference and allow women navigate through this phase with a lot more ease.

Last Sunday I had the privilege to share some insights about the importance of an adapted diet among these lovely women. The talk was organised by menowise.

We spoke about appropriate supplements, food and its benefits during menopause, foods which help alleviate symptoms and foods which can boost energy levels.

Our Story

Lavanya has more than 11 yearsโ€™ experience in Nutrition & Dietetics and 6 years โ€˜ experience in a hospital set up. She has been part of a multi-disciplinary team to attend ICU patients on enteral and parenteral nutrition. She notably served as Head of the Dietetics Department at the Apollo Bramwell Hospital (now Wellkin Hospital), the largest private hospital in Mauritius. She holds a BSc in Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics and an MSc in Clinical Nutrition.

In the first half of 2019, she intervened as Dietitian in the 10th Edition of the Indian Ocean Island Games, conducting counselling, meal planning and follow-ups for around 300 Mauritian athletes over a period of 3 months.

Since 2012, she has been collaborating with organisations such as MCB Forward Foundation, SOS Childrenโ€™s Villages and Global Rainbow Foundation with a view to promoting balanced and healthy food habits and enabling sustainable nutritional changes among her target audiences.
