Dhoondigam
I urge serious concern for our beloved district, Dhoondigam, which has been politically kneeling to Funaad for a very long time.
Dhoondigam and Funaad together form the constituency of Fuvahmulah Dhekunu. Dhoondigam is the majority district, yet we remain under Funaad’s political leadership. Why is the majority powerless over the minority?
We, the people of Dhoondigam, must think deeply about this reality. Funaad’s leadership has been well-planned and systematic in controlling Dhoondigam, intentionally narrowing opportunities for our people. The result is clear: in the last 40 years, only one MP has been elected from Dhoondigam, while all remaining MPs have come from Funaad.
This must change.
Going forward, as the majority district, Dhoondigam must stand united. Whether in MDP, PNC, or any other party, we must vote for Dhoondigam candidates in party primary elections. If we vote with unity and dignity, Funaad will have zero chance to dominate parliamentary representation.
With political power in our hands, Dhoondigam can finally develop socially and economically.
The choice is ours.
