“Our mission: Because every person is an individual and every “body” is unique, everything should be person to person…” One movement, one moment, one breathe at a time...
The Fitwellx concept is about providing programs and services which are experiential, positive and empowering. Practicing and applying things in this way make it much easier to adapt and integrate these practices in to your regular activities for transformation and change. We believe a program should be something that becomes a positive part of your life and is part of something that you are. Not something that you have to do or suffer through only to be discontinued at the end of a gym membership or 12 week challenge.
Transition vs. Change…
Change uses external influences to modify actions, but transformation modifies beliefs so actions become natural and thereby achieve the desired result.
Experiential programs lend themselves to a more complete and long term transition to new habits, rituals and behaviour patterns in shorter amount of time.
So what’s wellness?
The term “Wellness” has become one of the latest “Catch Phrase” around the business of vacation, physical fitness, recovery and just about any other industry that can capitalize on the term.
A recent trend is now going on holiday and coming back looking and feeling better and healthier than when you left. This opposed to arriving back home and feeling like you now need to detox from your holiday. Wellness gurus and coaches are also popping up around the world and promising to balance your chakras, detox your body, loose that weight and awaken your spirit sometimes all at the same time.
The truth is… it’s an inside job, only you can do it for yourself. Still it’s good to have those with experience to sometimes assist you on your path “It’s more effective to go on a journey with a map”.
Wellness and what it involves is truly a personal experience in regard to each individual’s lifestyle, life experience and expectations. Whether someone chooses to participate in a wellness program or experience still participating in some kind of a program or experience. This may be a current one of overindulgence, in food, drink or social media or maybe it’s the gym, sport, or a spiritual practice. It might also be living in the past or future which can keep us from fully living in the present. The question one might ask themselves is what “program – experience” am I living and is that ok? If not what do I want it to be and how do I attain this in the most efficient way?
Wellness? Let’s touch upon wellness and some of its components: Something to note is that we are merely touching on this, this is a deep well and most of these areas co-exist and cross reference each other in regards to overall wellness, balance and the body’s homeostasis.
Physical wellness / fitness – the ability to move your body through time and space as you want and desire. To use it to do all kinds of fun and interesting things. Maybe to play with your kids, grand-kids or furry friends. To use your body to enjoy nature, a physical challenge or adventure, or maybe enjoy a new hobby. It could be it’s just to look and feel good when you smile at that person in the mirror. Nutrition is also an extremely involved and individualized part of this.
Mental wellness / happiness – Happiness in everyday living, in your place in life what you have done and what you plan to do, how you perceive this and give it energy. It can also be your mental clarity and focus which can sometimes be effected by hormonal and neurological balances.
Spiritual wellness / connection harmony – Some find this through inner peace gained through a spiritual path, practice and connection such as Yoga.. Some find it through organized religion and spirituality or a sense of community. This is truly and individual and personal journey.
Social wellness / connection with community and others – As much as we might sometimes like to isolate or be independent it’s highly known that we as humans are social creatures. We are effected by other people, our relationships, interaction and now more than ever social media. It was once said that “It’s easy to be a holy man on alone on the top of a mountain” probably true but these days it’s not really that realistic. Whether one choose to participate or not, social interaction and harmony in human relations is a very integral element of wellness and balance.

“Imagine if you will being on your death bed – And standing around your bed – the ghosts of the ideas, the dreams, the abilities, the talents given to you by life.
And that you for whatever reason, you never acted on those ideas, you never pursued that dream, you never used those talents, we never saw your leadership, you never used your voice, you never wrote that book.
And there they are standing around your bed looking at you with large angry eyes saying we came to you, and only you could have given us life! Now we must die with you forever.
The question is – if you die today what ideas, what dreams, what abilities, what talents, what gifts, would die with you? ”
