Since 2016, Iru Studio has been offering classes specializing in hatha style yoga, with an emphasis on alignment and technique so that every body type can experience the benefit of yoga asana. Additionally, mental focus and breathing techniques are strengthened through consistent practice.

We have three teachers at Iru Studio, each with their own, unique approach to teaching so every class is different and every person who walks into a class can follow at their own pace and level.
IRU SATTAR
Iru Sattar, founder of Iru Studio, teaches evening yoga on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Iru is known for her strong vinyasa style classes, based on her background in Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha yoga.
She’s big on props using blocks and straps in all her classes and focuses on exploring the connection between body and mind in each and every asana. She also leads the monthly meditation classes at the Studio.

Mimi Sattar can be found swinging on her aerial belt at Iru Studio. Mimi loves slow, mindful movement of hatha and burns off her crazy with intense HIIT workouts.
Mimi is the resident specialist yogi, teaching the weekly aerial yoga classes as well as working with the elderly women in her three times a week Gentle Yoga classes, to help women lead a healthier lifestyle. She also teaches kid’s yoga every Saturday, for students of Ghiyassuddin International School.

Shafya (Thappu) walked into Iru Studio three years ago to find a way to manage her anxiety and ended up as one of our favorite teachers. She teaches restorative yoga at Iru Studio, as well as beginner yoga at the Studio.
She’s your biggest cheerleader when it comes to teaching and would gently push you past your comfort zone and you can’t help but be thrilled when she smiles that beautiful smile of hers.
