As we begin the Week of Peace in the Advent season, we’re reminded that peace grows where support is present. Every child can thrive when families are supported, and together, we can help make that peace possible.

What an incredible turnout! Our Disability Clinical and Awareness Outreach in Mkwenembera Village was truly massive and impactful. We were honored to have the Deputy Minister of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, Martha Mzomera Ngwira, join us for this important event.

Our greatest joy came from the strong commitments made by key duty bearers:

✅ The Deputy Minister pledged that her ministry will send a delegation to the community to document the needs of people with disabilities and develop a plan for comprehensive support.
✅ Hon. Kelvin Number-Fifty Mphande, MP, committed to bringing health services closer to families by constructing a health facility right in the community.

These commitments represent powerful steps toward building a community where every child can grow, learn, and thrive.

We look forward to the fulfillment of these promises and to continuing our work in strengthening systems of care and inclusion for all.

Today, on the International Day for Persons with Disabilities, we stand in solidarity with persons with disabilities in Malawi and around the world, under the theme: “Fostering Disability-Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress.”

At the commemoration event in Mzimba, our Physiotherapist, Tamandani Malika shared with the Minister of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, Hon. Mary Navicha, MP, and other dignitaries about our work in early disability identification and the provision of essential health services to children with disabilities in communities far from hospitals.

Today on , we’re asking you to help us reach children before it’s too late.
Early care can change a child’s whole future, but many families in the communities we serve don’t have access to it.

Your gift today can help a child get early identification, therapy, or treatment right when they need it most.

Thank you, Dowa!
Today, we touched lives, restored hope, and opened doors for children who deserve every chance to thrive. Over 90 children received screening, treatment, and referrals in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, ophthalmology, psychiatry, epilepsy care, and more.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Dowa DHO, the Malawi Council for Disability Affairs the Ear Care Foundation, chiefs and our community champions for standing with us in this mission.

Tomorrow, we carry this hope to Kamjetcha in Mzimba South. Together, we are making a difference

This Advent, let hope shine.
One small gift can open a world of possibilities for a child.

Give the Gift of Hope — as low as $25 / MWK 45,000 provides one child with a developmental check-up and early support for a whole month.

As we are approaching this year's Advent season, we proudly celebrate Health Surveillance Assistants (HSAs) and their vital role in child development.

Fount for Nations has trained HSAs to use the Malawi Developmental Assessment Tool (MDAT-IDEC) to screen children under five for developmental delays. By identifying issues early, the HSAs ensure timely referrals and support, helping every child to thrive.

And because Every Child Can Thrive, we are reminded of the importance of early intervention and the dedicated efforts of HSAs working at the frontlines to make this a reality.

Our Story

Fount for Nations was founded by Patience Musiwa, a nutritionist, when she was 21 years old. She is passionate about education, particularly for children with disabilities. Having volunteered at hospitals and rural schools for 6 years, she was motivated to set up an organization that provides resources for those who have extra learning barriers to overcome for academic success. Fount for Nations is built on the foundation that everyone deserves equal education opportunities and everyone has something special to offer the world.
