Timbercity Wood Technologies is a budding Malawian company finding its niche in the advanced technology of

wood machining, wooden and carpentry products; interior designing; and sales of materials and services related to the

wooden world. We are based in Blantyre with a footprint in Lilongwe and Mzuzu.

We sale wooded products like kitchen units, chest drawers, TV stands, closets, beds, bar stools, inhouse bars,

boardrooms, wardrobes. We also sell melamine and all kinds of boards. Additionally, we do tiling, roofing and all

work that requires state-of-the-art wooden technology and expertise.

1. Carpentry Technician

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using various carpentry tools and machinery, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints.

3. Wood Machine Technician

Reporting to the Workshop Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible, amongst others, for:

• Setting up and operating machines such as drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, sanders, planers,

and wood-nailing machines. They may also operate numerically controlled (CNC) computer

equipment.

• Monitoring the operation of machines, making adjustments to correct problems and ensure

conformance to specifications.

• Examining raw woodstock for defects and ensure conformity to size and other specification

standards.

• Adjusting machine tables or cutting devices and setting controls on machines to produce specified

cuts or operations.

• Performing routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance of the machines.

The successful candidate should have the following specifications, experience and skill sets:

• Strong attention to detail, technical knowledge of woodworking machinery, and the ability to work

under general supervision.

• An advanced diploma in wood machining or its equivalent.

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in wood machinery field.

• Must be computer literate and able to prepare works programs & weekly progress reports.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using various carpentry tools and machinery, as well as the ability

QUANTITY SURVEYOR

BESPAT Construction Limited was established and registered as a general works contractor in both Building and Civil Engineering Category with Construction Industry Regulation Authority (CIRA). DUTIES:

Preparing tender documents and other related documentation.
Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements
Preparing and Carry out Cost estimates, cost planning and cost management
Estimating quantities, costs and time scales for material and labour
Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure profitability of the projects. Ensuring that clients get value for their money
Keeping track of materials, tools, equipment, machinery and orders
Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors and subcontratcors
Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment and other documents.
Valuing completed work, managing budgets and overseeing payments
Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies
Analysing terms and conditions in the contract.
Predicting potential risks in the project and taking precautions to mitigate such.
Ensuring projects meet legal and quality standards
Advising on the maintenance costs of specific buildings
Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders
Organising, preparing, and participating in meetings
Travelling from office to various project sites as required
Searching for new potential projects and provide updates, analysis of the market.
Conduct any other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying
At least 2 years’ experience working for a busy civil or construction company
Team player and able to relate with both skilled and unskilled workers
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and clients’ demands

Analytical and ability to work and travel in rural areas
