"Mataron al doctor, pero no harán ruido"

La noche del viernes fue asesinado el doctor Librado de la Torre Campos, especialista en trasplantes de riñón, afuera de una vinatería en la avenida López Mateos, esquina con Miguel de la Madrid, en Guadalajara.

En redes sociales, pacientes suyos —hombres y mujeres que volvieron a vivir gracias a un riñón trasplantado por sus manos— han expresado dolor, gratitud y rabia.
Su familia, que lo acompañaba esa noche, hoy llora el vacío que deja un hombre que salvaba vidas.

Y, sin embargo, su as*****to amenaza con diluirse en la indiferencia, porque el doctor Librado no era un político encumbrado, ni una influencer como Valeria Márquez.
No tenía una marca personal, ni miles de seguidores. Tenía algo más valioso: conocimiento, compromiso con la salud pública, una vida dedicada a los demás.

Aún no se conocen las causas de su as*****to. Pero en un estado donde siguen impunes crímenes de alto perfil, ¿qué se puede esperar para un ciudadano común, aunque haya sido un héroe anónimo?

We are a primary care practice, offering our patients bilingual medical services with an emphasis on professionalism and compassion that fosters trust and confidence.

Founded in 2012, based on the vision and under the direction of Dr. Santiago Hernandez, a graduate of Indiana University and the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Chapala Med is located in Ajijic on Beautiful Lake Chapala. Drawing from his experiences while practicing in clinics and hospitals in the U.S. and in Mexico, and focused on providing authentic, empathetic and humanistic healthcare, Hernandez decided to establish a prive practice. Chapala med provides care to local residents as well as numerous expatriates from the U.S. and Canada who call the Chapala area home. Chapala Med offers excellent primary care.

Chapala Med collaborates with a team of more than 20 highly trained doctors and healthcare providers who are certifies by such national and international institutions as the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, the Montreal Heart Institute, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and Harvard university. The team communicates and coordinates with one another to provide caring, professional and excellent health care.
