When someone says plant protein is equal to animal protein…

Animal vs Plant Protein
• Amino Acids – Animal = complete and leucine-rich
• Plant = complete but weaker amino acid profile
• Absorption – Animal = highly bioavailable
• Plant = reduced by fiber + anti-nutrients
• Muscle Signal – Animal = stronger muscle-building response
• Plant = you need more to match it

Protein Powders
• Whey (animal-based) – simple, digestible, leucine-rich
• Plant (pea, rice, blends) – heavily processed, often with gums/fillers

Pea Protein 👇
Industrial processing (milling, isolating, heat drying) can leave anti-nutrients like:
• phytates
• tannins
• saponins
• trypsin inhibitors

These interfere with digestion and mineral absorption.

Bottom line: You can build muscle with plant protein… but gram-for-gram, it’s not equal.
