Very interesting interview of Dr. Galindo by El Pais reporter Daniel Mediavilla. Well written and informative discussion on a somewhat taboo subject. A great read, especially for women although men should be reading it as well. Married men in particular.

So as many of you know, I have been waiting for the right time to make some major announcements. I can't speak on all of them at this point, but I can now officially announce that I have been appointed to the Board of Advisors for GITA to advocate for Baja providers and patients. I am honored and humbled by this decision, and we will be working closely with MAPS and ICEERS. The website is still under construction, but my profile and bio have been public for some time now.
Also, many of you may have noticed that my Twitter and Instagram accounts are not just focused on ibogaine. I have decided to fully embrace my neurodivergence and turn my obsessions/hobbies into another business venture. I will be offering prints and lithographs of my astrophotography for sale by request. There will also be a focus on nutrition, recipes and all things related to the paranormal and other anomalous experiences. At this point, it is just easier for me to do it all from one media handle. This is just the beginning. I am not abandoning ibogaine, but I am going to be stepping into a new phase of my career and will be focusing on harm reduction, youth outreach and quelling the violence and political division in my beloved sweet home Chicago. I have an amazing team lead by Jeanette Zaragoza that are completely capable of running things the same as I have been for all these years. They have been down since day one. Please stay tuned, as there is more to come!

This epic event happens tomorrow!!

What are entities? Are they projected parts of our psyches or autonomous beings? How can we tell the difference?
When working with clients, either with or without the use of psychedelic medicines, it is important to discern whether you are working with a part of a person's psyche (e.g., a subself) or an autonomous being who may or may not want what is in his or her best interests. According to Internal Family Systems (IFS), there are no "bad" parts, meaning all parts of the person's psyche have the good intention of helping\protecting the person. However, some autonomous entities may not have these benevolent intentions. What are some ways to find out who or what you are dealing with? And if it is discovered that malevolent entities are involved, what are the best ways to deal with them? The Other Within, a book 10 years in the making, takes us on an amazing journey into these topics, which have been (and largely still are) taboo in the scientific community.

Been promising Julian that I would show him how to use the telescope for the past couple of days, but the weather has made it impossible. So we went meteorite hunting and rock hounding and the kid is a natural! Future geologist in the making. He found a couple of jade stones and a yet to be identified ore. Unfortunately we didn't get the picture of me falling on my face and busting my arm and shin open. But at least I will have the scars to remember today!

What does Ibogaine Do?

The most pronounced of ibogaine’s qualities are its psychoactive effects. Although it is commonly described as a psychedelic, ibogaine’s particular effects are quite distinct from substances such as L*D, psilocybin and DMT (found in ayahuasca) in many ways. These “classical” psychedelic compounds generally effect a small range of serotonin receptors, especially the 5-HT2 receptors, while ibogaine’s effects cross multiple receptor sites, including numerous dopaminergic, serotonergic, NMDA, and sigma receptors. This has led some researchers to suggest that ibogaine’s anti-addictive properties are associated with several rather than any one of these influences.

Ibogaine for Depression, Anxiety & Trauma

In cases where there is serious risk of withdrawals a medically supervised switchover onto benzodiazepines should be arranged. Benzodiazepines work exclusively on the gabinergic system, relieving the risk of seizure, but avoiding any interaction with ibogaine during treatment. Either the switchover and taper can be completed prior to arrival, or the switchover can be completed and the benzodiazepine dosage continued throughout the ibogaine treatment and tapered later when the seizure risk has abated.
