Dr. Donato Perez, has been in practice as Medical Doctor since 1983. He is an Expert in Functional Medicine and on NON DIABETIC USE OF INSULIN in the management of chronic diseases & cancer, using the technique called IPT/IPTLD.He has published five papers in peer reviewed medical literature. My practice as a Functional Medicine Expert and General Practitioner includes treating several diseases, like Gastritis,Esophagitis,Fatty Liver, some nutritional and mineral deficiencies, arthritis, bronchitis, pneumonia, infections, prostate enlargement and some malignant tumors (cancer) from organs like uterus, ovary, prostate, colon, breast, lung. For those chronic degenerative diseases listed above I can use different treatment protocols from Functional Medicine, Immunotherapy and Biologic Medicine. For some solid tumors I use Insulin Potentiation Therapy IPT© or IPTLD®, as a targeted metabolic supported protocol including low dose chemotherapy & non chemo. This technique involves fasting and insulin in combination with a variety of drugs with anti-cancer activity. This integrative therapy is very effective against the diseases I'm treating and has a high response rate. Current treatments for many diseases are only to improve symptoms and not to correct the cause or causes. The disease may have one or more symptoms. The disease occurs within the cell, which is the basic unit and from which the organs are made. Cells have one or multiple functions. What cells do is produce chemical substances that interact with other cells so that a cycle of production of chemical substances is generated that maintains the state of health. The cell was first seen in 1665 by Robert Hooke. In September 2021, through the use of radiological, microscopic technology and computer reconstruction, the first image of the contents of a human cell was achieved, where the different components that make it function and live are observed. Each of these components has one or more functions and, depending on the type of cell, produces specific chemical substances. Communication between cells occurs chemically and physically. It is tolerated very well and improves life quality and the prognosis for life expectancy significantly. "Count your successes by the organs you have preserved, never by those you have mutilated" Hippocrates. Choose Donato Perez Garcia, MD., Clinic, where your journey to healing is nurtured with compassion, innovation, and personalized care. Why do patients come to Mexico (Tijuana, Baja California) seeking complementary therapies and a treatment alternative? Because patients want to be treated with functional medicine so their disease can be effectively treated and, like Alexandrina, they can recover and become cancer survivors (for more than 12 years). They come to me because I offer experience, a treatment alternative discovered in 1930 by my grandfather, which is effective in most cases, and, above all, the survival rate is very good. Which emerging practices or therapies in alternative medicine are you excited about, and why?
Hope is deeply tied to our emotional and spiritual well-being. When we pause to listen to our heart and soul, hope doesn’t just return—it grows stronger.
Several of my patients, face a situation that’s all too common: an elevated tumor marker. It can feel alarming, but it’s also a reminder to seek clarity, context, and compassionate care. Here’s how I’m approaching it—and what I’ve learned along the way.
What an elevated tumor marker can mean
- A tumor marker is a substance, often a protein, that can be detected in blood or other fluids. Elevated levels don’t automatically mean cancer is progressing; they can be influenced by infections, inflammation, benign conditions, or other factors happening at the same time.
What I’m doing and what you can consider
- Get a clear, personalized explanation from your clinician about what the marker levels mean for you.
- Nurture your whole self alongside medical care:
- Nutrition: Favor a balanced, nutrient-dense diet with anti-inflammatory foods—plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, and lean proteins. If you have liver concerns or other conditions, work with a pro to tailor choices.
- Hydration and mindful eating: Stay hydrated and consider moderating added sugars and processed foods.
- Activity: Gentle, regular movement—walking, yoga, swimming—can lift mood and energy.
- Stress relief: Mindfulness, deep breathing, or creative outlets like art therapy can ease anxiety and support emotional resilience.
- Emotional resilience and psychological support are as vital as any medical treatment. Building a support network and connecting with professionals who can coach coping strategies makes a real difference.
A note from my heart
- Each cancer journey is unique. What helps one person may not help another, and that’s okay. Emotional resilience, honest communication, and a holistic approach are not luxuries—they’re essential tools.
- If you’d like, I’m here to help you navigate questions about marker interpretation, next steps, and ways to support your physical and emotional well-being.

What’s a trend in alternative medicine that could change how patients approach their health?
A trend worth scrutinizing in alternative medicine is the appeal of simple treatments for complex diseases like cancer, often framed around a small set of chemical compounds delivered in straightforward protocols. While some of these compounds may offer metabolic support or symptomatic relief, their ability to meaningfully eradicate active, heterogeneous cancer cells remains unproven and highly uncertain. Cancer metabolism is multifaceted, and tumor biology is equally complex. Each tumor consists of diverse cell populations at varying life-cycle stages, which leads to differential responses to any single therapeutic agent.

The notion that a handful of simple molecules could reliably eliminate cancer cells in 2025 is overly optimistic. Cancer is fundamentally a systemic disease that requires a multifactorial treatment strategy. Relying on only a few agents risks addressing only the symptoms or metabolic vulnerabilities, while the core drivers of tumor growth, invasion, and resistance persist.

It is reasonable to acknowledge that some alternative therapies may offer metabolic support or quality-of-life benefits as adjuncts to conventional care. However, a comprehensive, evidence-informed treatment plan is essential. In a clinical setting, this typically involves an integrated approach that combines proven first-line therapies to target cancer cells, with supportive measures to optimize nutrition, metabolism, and healing, and with careful monitoring for safety and interactions.

Ultimately, while certain complementary strategies may have a role in supportive care, they should not be presented as stand-alone cures or replacements for established, guideline-concordant cancer treatment. A rigorous, multidisciplinary approach—grounded in biology, pharmacology, and patient-centered care—remains vital to addressing the complexities of cancer as a systemic disease.

Donato Perez Garcia, MD

Cancer is a systemic issue, not just a local tumor. That shift in mindset changes everything about treatment.
I’m Dr. Donato Perez Garcia, with 42+ years battling chronic degenerative diseases and certain cancers. Cancer isn’t a lump—it’s a disruption of normal biology that demands a holistic, personalized strategy.
Early treatment often uses systemic therapies to target cancer cells, reduce inflammation, and boost the immune system. Surgery or ablation can help, but they’re not always the long-term answer.
Survival depends on cancer type, stage, and age. My IPT/IPTLD therapy offers a systemic, personalized path to durable responses and restored bodily balance.

I’m Dr. Donato Perez Garcia, and I’ve spent more than four decades treating chronic degenerative diseases and certain cancers. A central tenet of my practice is viewing cancer as a systemic condition—a disruption of the body’s normal biological functions that requires a comprehensive, personalized response.
Key points:
- Cancer involves uncontrolled growth, invasion of tissues, and metastasis, driven by diverse genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors.
- Systemic therapies (often intravenous) aim to eliminate cancer cells, reduce inflammation, and stimulate the immune system.
- Surgery or ablation can be necessary but isn’t always the optimal long-term solution for every patient.
- Survival varies by cancer type, stage, and age; systemic, balanced approaches offer the potential for longer, more stable responses.
- IPT/IPTLD therapy is presented here as a systemic, holistic option to address root causes and restore bodily balance.

Many figures, but it’s a reality.

The Decline of Friendship
Recently, an article in a Harvard Business Review edition analyzes how the “recession of friendship,” or the decreasing trend of meaningful friendships, is slowly taking root in our lives.
According to the American Perspectives Survey, the number of American adults who say they have “no close friends” has quadrupled since 1990, reaching 12%. Meanwhile, the number of people with “ten or more close friends” has decreased by one third. A similar trend is emerging in urban areas of India: while acquaintances increase, deep friendships are becoming increasingly scarce.
In the past, people easily struck up conversations with strangers in cafés or bars. Now, people sit alone, disconnected from the crowd. In the United States, the number of people who eat alone has risen by 29% in the last two years. Stanford University has even introduced a course called “Design for Healthy Friendships,” highlighting that forming and maintaining friendships now requires learning and effort.
This is not just a social problem but a cultural crisis. Making time for friendship should no longer be a luxury, but a priority. Loneliness is no longer a choice; it is becoming a habit. If we do not consciously prioritize friendship, it will not only be hard to make new friends, but we will also lose old connections.
Religious gatherings, clubs, sports, and volunteer organizations—once the breeding grounds for friendship—are declining. We have narrowed our lives to social networks, family responsibilities, and even pets. Yes, some friends no longer see each other because they can’t leave their animals alone!
Today, friendship is no longer part of daily life; it only happens when other responsibilities are met. Yet research emphasizes the importance of friendship. In Bonnie Ware’s book The Top Five Regrets of the Dying, a moving lament is highlighted: “I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends…”
Research shows:
- Social isolation increases the risk of heart disease, dementia, and mortality.
- It is as harmful as smoking 15 ci******es a day.
- Friendships improve mental, physical, and emotional health.
- Harvard’s 80-year study concluded that the greatest source of happiness and health in life is not wealth or career, but close relationships.
True friendship is like an investment: it forgives, calls, makes memories, and spends time together.
As Mirza Ghalib beautifully put it:
“Oh God, grant me the opportunity to live with my friends… for I can be with You even after death.”

May these words inspire reflection and be accompanied by a warm hug for everyone.
