Marissa Walch is a full-time, certified fitness professional and fitness enthusiast based in the Maryland area. She has worked in the fitness industry for more than a decade, and she loves to share her knowledge and passion for living a healthier life with her clients. Marissa was the recipient of the Best of Baltimore, Fitness Trainer award for the Baltimore Sun and was runner-up for the Best of Baltimore, Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer award for Baltimore Magazine. Marissa is a 500-hour registered yoga instructor, certified personal trainer, and certified group exercise instructor. She teaches a variety of classes and provides personal training to clients both in person and virtually. She enjoys leading classes such as yoga, spinning, boot camp, TRX, treadmill, hot vinyasa, detox and twist, yoga for athletes, and other specialty yoga classes. She teaches for YogaWorks at HOME; the University of Maryland, Baltimore; and the Under Armour Performance Center, powered by FX Fitness. During the summer, Marissa can be found on the water at Capital SUP Annapolis as their stand-up paddleboarding fitness director or teaching yoga during the four-day Wanderlust Festivals, an annual yoga and music summer festival. She’s also proud to partner with Pure Raw Juice as their leading Fueled Athlete in the Baltimore area. Her popular three-day group cleanses and bowl events are available at all Pure Raw Juice locations. Marissa fell in love with fitness while at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2011 and her 300-hour training in 2014. She also holds the following certifications: Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) Fitness Instructor, AFAA Personal Fitness Trainer, Stand-Up Paddleboard Yoga Instructor, Madd Dog Spinning Instructor, TRX Training and CPR/AED and First Aid Professional Rescuer. She hopes to inspire everyone she meets with her passion for fitness, whether it’s in a group fitness class or private event. Happy Friday, beautiful people. I’m really thankful for the partners that I’ve been able to create along the way while building my business in Baltimore after moving here from Wrightsville Beach knowing no one almost 15 years ago now.

Cole and I transported ourselves into a brand new city and had dreams within both of our careers and it’s kind of cool to watch them both thrive right now. He’s been on call all week and I’ve been go go go with work so it’s also rather exhausting to work really hard every week (and a lot of weekends), but I do feel like we are both living out our dreams which is pretty exciting.

The reason I brought the partners that I’ve been able to create along the way in the beginning is because last night we had our last class with and I’ll truly miss them as a great venue to host classes. They also hosted our engagement party back in 2023, which was a very special time for a lot of of our friends and family to come together.

Before the pandemic, getting space in venues was super challenging and also venues that weren’t already offering wellness, thought I was kind of crazy when I would bring them ideas to do Yoga or Fitness in their venue and then pair it with something that I could pay them for... Now it’s booming and it’s working!! So if you’re a venue and you want to work together, I’m totally stoked to make the partnership happen and to those that I already worked with, thank you for helping to continue to build a beautiful live well community together! 🫶

Sounds SO SILLY, but yes outfit planning as a fitness, wellness, yoga trainer and instructor is a real thing. I want to feel confident standing in front of large groups, I want to be able to bend over and not have see through pants, I want to feel good and be able to move comfortably and sweat in all the colors.
