This is the story of a brave mother and her miracle baby.
She is 38 years old, carrying her second child—a pregnancy already labelled high-risk. She battled diabetes complicating pregnancy, a baby growing larger than expected, and polyhydramnios. Every checkup came with prayers. Every single day mattered. Because for babies at risk of being born too soon, every extra day in the womb counts like gold.
We watched the calendar anxiously, hoping to prolong the pregnancy—just a little longer, just one more day. But life had its own timing. At 33 weeks, her waters broke. It was early… too early.
Yet, out came a tiny but strong fighter—2.54kg of pure determination. Born on World Prematurity Day itself, as if to remind us that miracles don’t always follow our plans, but they always find their way.
Today, we celebrate this little warrior and every premature baby who has fought their way into the world. We honour the mothers and families who show immense strength, the healthcare teams who stand by them, and the babies who prove every day that size does not define strength.
💜 Happy World Prematurity Day 💜
May fewer babies be born too soon.
And for those who are—may they grow healthy, strong and deeply loved.
